Egypt Specific Info

Price:

Based on double occupancy (SHARED). If you wish to have single occupancy this can also be arranged! The single occupancy is listed under the single room and it an additional $475.

Health:

The main health issues encountered by travellers to Egypt are stomach upsets, heat exhaustion, and sun burn. We recommend that you stay well-hydrated and protect yourself from the sun, particularly in the summer months. Medical facilities in Egypt's larger cities are very good and pharmacies are everywhere to cater to your needs.

I please urge you go get comprehensive travel insurance that covers medial expenses as well as any issues with trip cancellation/interruption.

I personally use World Nomads. But there is also Safety Wing, MedJet, and others.

Safety:

Egypt is quite safe and is a top tourist destination!  However, as when traveling in any foreign country it is always advisable to be aware of your surroundings and make smart decisions. But we will be in GREAT care with Yasser. I can attest to that.

Wherever I go, I always register with the U.S. Embassy. It allows notifications of any events and allows the embassy to be aware where of you in the country! Always a good thing. Check out the STEP program

Currency:

Egyptian pounds

However USD are widely accepted!

Credit cards are accepted in major areas, check with your guide to assure authenticity.

Immunizations:

Please refer to CDC website and your doctors discretion.

Culture:

Egypt is a predominantly Muslim country. There are no women working in hotels, restaurants, cruise ships or transportation. That is the culture. That means you will interact with a lot

of men during our tour. They are friendly and like to joke and flirt with women. Please don't take offense if someone offers you five camels - or more! - to marry them.... It is a friendly joke and not at all serious. They may tell you that you are as beautiful as Cleopatra, or that they are

King Rameses and they want you to be their Queen Nefertari. Their intention is to flatter you, and have fun. Please know that bus drivers, guards and tour guides will offer you a hand or arm getting on and off buses, or climbing on the pyramids or elsewhere. This is strictly to help

you. If you are uncomfortable with it, just politely decline. That being said, if anyone does anything that makes you feel uncomfortable, (not expected!! but just in case...)like invading your personal space, touching you in a way that makes you feel uncomfortable, or suggesting

something inappropriate, by all means SAY NO and make your boundaries clear.

Attire:

-Cool(lightweight) and conservative

-Women will need to have heads(scarves), arms, and legs covered for entrance into    mosques/religious areas

-Sturdy walking shoes

-Be sure to check the weather ahead of time! Egypt is in the same hemisphere as us, so similar seasons but different climate.

-Regular bathing suits are OK for resorts and other hotel pool areas!

- Sunglasses and sun hat

Water:

Don't drink the tap water in Egypt. Bottled water is available everywhere; make sure the caps are unbroken.

● Use bottled water to brush your teeth.

● Don't open your mouth in the shower.

● Don't get ice in your drinks!!! Ice in many places is made from tap water and should be avoided.

Adaptors/Plugs

Egypt has a voltage supply of 220V, and the plugs are the 2-round pin type that are common throughout Europe (except the UK).

Passport/Visa

You will need a valid passport to travel to Egypt, and the expiration date must be at least SIX MONTHS after the date of your departure from Egypt.  If you are from North America or Western Europe, you will need to buy a tourist visa at Cairo airport.

It costs $25 US and must be paid in cash. WanderLuxe Tours employs airport agents to meet you when you get off the plane and help you get your visa, go through passport control, and get your luggage.

Is photography permitted?

Photography with mobile phones is permitted almost everywhere. There is sometimes an extra charge if you want to use a real camera to take photos. Always ask permission before taking pictures of people, especially women and children. Some local people dressed in traditional clothing will pose in front of temples and pyramids and expect a small tip if you take their picture.

Cancellation Policy

In the event that you need to cancel your trip, these fees will be applied:

● NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT once trip is confirmed with minimum amount of guests..

● Within 120 and 61 days of travel: 25% of tour price.

● Within 60 and 31 days of travel: 50% of tour price.

FULL DEPOSIT DUE NO LATER THAN MARCH  MAY 26, 2025.

TRIP MUST BE PAID IN FULL NO LATER THAN  MAY 30, 2025.

Flights

**Please don't purchase flights until trip is confirmed with minimum 2 guests **

You will fly in and out of Cairo.

Please be mindful of dates AND TIMES of arrival. If you use Delta, many times the flights will get in at midnight or 1 am. Be sure to ARRIVE SEPT 7  and leave Sept 12.

For example, if your flight arrives 12:15 am Sept 7,  you would probably need an additional pre-tour night (which can be arranged just let us know).  However, if your flight arrives Sept 8  12:15 am, this is OK, but just will leave you tired for the next day's tour that starts early!

Please let us know if you would like to book a pre or post night tour, or add on an options such as Alexandria or Jordan!

Kathryn (Katie) planned an amazing trip for us with a variety of new, and wonderful experiences: A walking food and history tour, An amazing sailboat cruise from Santorini which included a greek dinner, prepared on the boat, a gorgeous sunset, and fireworks, and A guided tour of Museums and the Parthenon. All of the accommodations were clean and centrally located. I would definitely travel with Katie again

We traveled to Greece and stayed in Athens, Milos and Santorini. All of our hotels were very accommodating and comfortable. Teavel between our 3 locations and all tours had been prearranged, always on time and very comfortable . Katie and our guides went over and above to make sure we had a great time. I felt very comfortable on this trip and enjoyed my overseas trip.

What an absolutely wonderful trip to Morocco! I cannot express how amazing this country was to experience firsthand. Never Lost Travel and Katie Fitts took exemplary care of us and we had the tour of a lifetime. We stayed in beautiful riads, rode camels, ate delicious food, shopped in the souks and stayed at a luxurious desert camp. Our local guides were informative and so conscientious! I’ve never felt sad leaving a country before, but I can tell you that last day of Morocco left me a little heartbroken. I plan to go back in the near future.

I didn't really know what to expect going into this trip. I've never been a huge fan of tours. However I was absolutely blown away. 13 people who got along seamlessly. Sitting around drinking wine, singing bad 80s songs on busses, and making amazing memories. The trip was flawless. Yasser was unlike any tour guide. His knowledge and passion for his country and history was something yo admire. He also cared about everyone one of our stories. He went above and beyond. From buying us snacks because he knew we had a long bis ride. To sitting up late answering all our questions when he was obviously exhausted and would have been much easier to just go to bed This really was just an incredible trip! Highly recommend. If this was Katie's first trip, I look forward to traveling with her group any time!
