About this trip

Take a spin through Skagit Valley’s farm stands by bike and witness a diverse agricultural community growing over 80 commercial crops. This one-way 17-mile bike tour from Bow Edison to La Conner delivers on scenery as well as taste, with four unique farm stand tastings and tours throughout the ride. Tour is from 2pm-6pm, and starting location is Bow Hill Blueberries in Bow, WA. After the last farm tour in La Conner, participants will receive a shuttle ride (with bikes) back to cars parked at Bow Hill Blueberries. Enjoy a 10% discount at Terramar Brewstillery after the ride to keep the good times rolling. Bring your own bike, or ask us for bike rental shop recommendations.

Tour Itinerary

Farmstands we'll visit: 

o Bow Hill Blueberries: The oldest family-run blueberry farm in the Skagit Valley, selling heirloom, Certified Organic blueberries and award-winning jams, pickles, juice, powders and more. 

o Samish Bay Cheese: Organic farmstead cheese, yogurt, and other dairy products. Owners Suzanne and Roger raise organic beef, pastured pork, veal, and lamb on their farm. You can find artisan foods, beer, wine and other beverages at the Samish Bay Cheese Farm Store. 

o Hedlin Farms: 3rd and 4th Generation farm growing organic and conventional produce on 500 acres - their farm store offers fresh fruit, produce, artisan foods, and freshly baked goods. 

o Mesman Farms: 5th generation family-run organic dairy with farm store hosting organic beef and milk as well as pasture raised pork, lamb, and eggs. Both classic and specialty cuts are regularly stocked. 


Tour Details and Logistics

o Tour begins and ends at Bow Hill Blueberries - parking will be available. 

o Trip Length: 4 hours, from 2pm-6pm.

o Mileage & Terrain: 17 miles across on rural roads with wide shoulders and relatively flat terrain.

o Age Range: Tour is appropriate for teens and adults (teens under 18 must be accompanied by an adult).

o Group Size: 25 people per tour max.

o Babies and toddlers in bikeseats can ride along for free.

o Participants will receive a discount at Terramar Brewery for food and drinks after bike tour.

This was a fun ride. Nice to have such an easygoing route. This tour would be much more enjoyable if there was more time planned to actually shop the farm stands we visited.

Just a great bicycle day trip with Madi and 12 or so others. Lightly travelled roads so the riding was relaxed and comfortable. We visited four farms and got to sample their produce and were treated to light tours of each farm. The farmers were very gracious and happy to explain their farms and methods of farming. The scenery along the way was spectacular too! Our tour guide, Maddi, was a delight. All in all, we had a great time. Thanks Madi!

my wife and I had toured this island on our own a couple years ago. It was delightful and inspiring to stop and experience island life from the perspective of farmers, fisherman, and first nation descendants. Lunch was delicious. Don’t forget sunscreen!

Our first trip with the company so didn’t know what to expect, but we had a great time! Visiting the farms and talking to the farmers and fishermen were educational. Lunch was delicious. The best salmon! Our guides Madi, Sam, and Malcolm were friendly and welcoming. It was a fun and relaxing experience for us. Very tempting to stay the night on the island!
