To the northwest, two hours from Quito, passing through the well-known monument to the Middle of the World, we have Mindo with its warm humid climate because it is on the border between two regions; the Andes and the Ecuadorian coast. This cloud forest is visited by biologists, bird watchers, scientists and adventurers due to the large number of bird species that inhabit it. On our 1-day tour we will first visit the Butterfly and Orchid Garden, and then go up to the upper part and do zip lining over the cloud forest. If we are lucky we will be able to see different types of birds flying next to us. After this extreme experience, we will cross with the tarabita (small cable car) to the other side of the river and we will walk through different paths to reach the river and swim. After this refreshing adventure, we return to the town to go to the artisan chocolate factory to learn more about the entire production process.
