About this trip

This trip will offer you the ultimate blend of wilderness exposure and excitement. The Pacuare River is world-famous for its pristine beauty and awesome waters. This is a beautiful and magic river gorge; the Pacuare is flanked by steep green walls from which waterfalls cascade at either side as colorful, tropical birds fly overhead. The abundant wildlife includes sloths, toucans, parrots, coatis, butterflies and colorful frogs, among many other species that are frequently seen in the area. The white water rafting will get the adrenaline going. You will get through exhilarating, class III and IV rapids while making the outstanding descent to the Caribbean lowlands, making this a most memorable river trip! About halfway through your descent, you will stop to rest and enjoy a buffet-style lunch at a peaceful river beach while birds, and even small river fish, keep you company. The tour finishes in Siquirres, at the private Exploration Center, where you can take a shower, change into some fresh clothes, drink a cold beverage, enjoy pictures of your trip and chat with newly-made friends about the great adventure you will have just shared.

We had a great experience. The trip provided a comprehensive history of the transatlantic slave trade, the Ashanti Kingdom and the culture of Ghana. There was something for everyone and fun was also included. Shopping was brisk. Senegal was the perfect wind down to get ready to return to the U.S. The tour guides in both countries were knowledgeable and were very accommodating no matter the request. Thank you Travel to Do Good for exceeding our expectations.

This is the most memorable trip that I have had the opportunity to be apart of. THE PEOPLE, THE FOOD, THE FELLOWSHIP, MOST OF ALL THE HOSPITALITY . AMAZING 👏

This trip was fun, eye opening, educational, and I enjoyed every second of it! The WeTravel team did an excellent job in planning and partnering with KITS to make our groups experience phenomenal. I highly recommend using WeTravel for all trips to the Motherland.

The trip was a wonderful spirit filled experience, true to form with art, music and culture throughout the country. While the trip was a bit too jammed packed with activities, it was good to have a variety of exposures, events and adventures for the full experience. Suggestions for the tour guide; Help set expectations by informing the tour group a day ahead of what to expect. Examples: Inform group of the day(s) when we will be walking in water so we can wear water shoes, short pants, etc. Inform group of days where there will be no running water or toilet facilities while on tour. Thank you again for a well planned and orchestrated "travel to do good" experience.
