About this trip

The tour starts with pickup service from downtown La Paz. We then head to the town of Tiwanaku to explore its archaeological site, including the Akapana pyramid, the semi-subterranean Kalasasaya temple with its monoliths and the Gate of the Sun. After lunch, we visit the Tiwanaku Museum and finally Puma Punku, an enigmatic archaeological site that remains undeciphered. The tour concludes with a return to La Paz.

We begin the tour with pick up service from La Paz (central district only). Later we go to the town of Tiwanaku.


Tiwanaku

Arriving at Tiwanaku, we start the tour of the archaeological site, visiting the Akapana pyramid of 187 m2 being superior compared to the pyramid of Giza in Egypt, we then visit the semi-subterranean temple, Kalasasaya temple where we observe the monoliths and the iconic Gate of the Sun. After lunch, we finish the tour visiting the Tiwanaku Museum and finally Puma Punku, an enigmatic archaeological site that has not yet been deciphered. Finally, we return to La Paz.
