Are you interesting in exploring the great Caucasus Mountains? Then this tour is for you! We depart from Tbilisi before traveling along the famed Georgian Military Highway – one of the most spectacular roads in Georgia, and possibly the world. On the way to Kazbegi, we'll stop to admire the beauty of the Ananuri fortress, overlooking Zhinvali reservoir with its beautiful azure water. Continuing on, the road leads us through green velvet mountains until we reach the huge semi-circular Russo-Georgian Friendship monument. We'll stop here to learn more about the monument and to enjoy the breathtaking views; the monument sits above a deep valley and across from towering peaks.
Upon arrival to the town of Kazbegi (Stepantsminda), we'll begin our hike towards the iconic Gergeti Trinity Church, which is perched on top of the mountain. The round-trip hike takes about 2.5 hours and will take us through pleasant forests until we reach the church and begin to approach Mount Kabzegi (5047m). After exploring the church, we'll head back down and will begin our journey back to Tbilisi.
The mountains Kazbegi region is a one-of-a-kind destination that is not to be missed when in Georgia.
