At Rancho Primicias, you’ll observe these fascinating creatures up close, learning about their life cycle, conservation efforts, and unique adaptations. Afterward, explore the lava tunnels—ancient volcanic formations created by flowing lava thousands of years ago. Looking for a fabulous experience in the Galapagos with great tours and organization. Days were extremely well planned and always super punctual. The guides were knowledgeable often sharing their love of the islands and passion to protect them. Definitely take the Quito extension as it makes for an easy stay in the historic part of Quito with easy transitions to and from the airport. We were a group of seven and everyone loved the trip. We had a couple small things come up and the owner attended to them extremely quickly and without hesitation. We are already thinking about a trip back to Quito and surrounding areas and will use Eco Adventure for our planning!

I loved Ecuador and Galapagos especially but the level of accommodation and organisation could have been better. Can’t say I’d recommend this company.

Horrible company. I decided to give Ecuador Eco Tours a try for Chimborazo and I wish I had known better. Almost no communication in the days leading up to when I was supposed to ascend Chimborazo and no updates on successful ascents or weather conditions. Very little communication on the day we traveled to their “base camp” and then the Refugio and everything was very rushed, as well as all their gear is in terrible condition. A decision was made at 6pm to not even leave the Refugio due to weather, even though the forecast looked good at night when we were supposed to climb. I have spent a lot of time in the mountains and it is surprising to me a decision is made 4-5 hours before ascending without considering the forecast or changing conditions. I get weather is completely out of anyone’s control, but these “guides” also seemed to have known the weather was not going to be good on this day and they still did not communicate anything with me. Why pay for local knowledge if nothing is going to be communicated and they will lead you on even though they know an ascent is not possible? Seems like they want to make as much money as possible while doing as little work as possible. Please take your business elsewhere, I wish I did.

Dear Aidan, Thank you for your feedback. While we regret that your Chimborazo experience was not what you hoped for, it’s important to address the situation accurately for the benefit of readers. Your climb was originally scheduled for January 3rd. Although there were no forecasts predicting bad weather, an unexpected storm hit the mountain that evening, making it unsafe for anyone to attempt the summit. Safety is always our priority, and this decision was made in your best interest. Prior to this, we had been in constant communication with you, keeping you informed every step of the way. When you requested to change your date, we accommodated your request by offering January 5th, which we believed was the best option for success. Despite our professional recommendation, you chose to stick with January 3rd. It’s unfortunate that this coincided with the storm, but to claim there was a lack of communication is entirely false. The very next day, January 4th, conditions improved, and two other clients successfully summited with our team. Today, January 5th—the date we suggested for you—we are guiding another successful summit. These outcomes underscore the unpredictable nature of high-altitude mountaineering, where sudden weather changes are beyond anyone’s control. We understand your frustration at missing the summit, but mountaineering involves inherent risks and uncertainties. Attempting to shift responsibility for bad weather onto our team, or demanding refunds contrary to the terms and conditions you agreed to, is neither fair nor reflective of the reality of this situation. These terms, which are standard in the mountaineering industry, were provided to you in advance. Our team worked diligently to ensure you had every opportunity for a successful climb, and we regret that you chose not to follow our expert advice to climb on January 5th. Readers can rest assured that we always prioritize our clients’ safety, communicate transparently, and do everything possible to provide a positive experience. We wish you better luck on your future adventures. Sincerely,
