About this trip

Have you ever dreamed of traveling back to your ancestors’ German hometowns and walk the same paths as they once did? But you don’t find the time to plan it all? Or find the many different choices overwhelming and/or confusing? Let us customize your trip together. So you can travel to the hometown(s) of your ancestors with comfort and peace of mind.


The consultation calls take place every day Monday through Sunday at 1 pm EST (New York time) / 7 pm CET (Germany time).

What’s included

  • 2 Travel Consultations
    2 Zoom Calls (1 hour each) with an experienced tour guide and German native (Sonja Irani) to ask all your questions and discuss all options.
  • Accommodation (optional)
    A hotel or other accommodation in your German hometown.
  • Meals (optional)
    Breakfast, lunch or dinner
  • Museums (optional)
    Entry tickets to your chosen museums
  • Transport (optional)
    Train ticket or rental car to get to your German hometown
  • Tour Guide (optional)
    A local tour guide or historian that can show you around your hometown region.
  • Genealogist (optional)
    A genealogist who can do more digging for you.
  • Travel Insurance
    My Ancestor's Journey is a licensed tour operator and provides insurance against insolvency and travel liability insurance, which are required by law for any licensed tour operators in Germany.

  • International flights
    Flights to Germany and back
  • Private Insurances
    Your own health or travel insurances
  • Tips
    Tips for the tour guides and / or driver

Available Packages

Consultation price
Available until 3 days before departure

This is the tour price for the trip planning consultation (2 Zoom Calls) and a customized trip itinerary. The booking is limited to one person for the consult. But there can be as many people in your group as you like sitting in front of the screen during your consult.


When you book your call via WeTravel, the standard time for your first consultation call is 1 pm EST (New York time). If you like to start the call at a different time, please send me an email at least 24 hours before our call to tours@myancestorsjourney.com.
