About this trip

Tickets for the March 28 Savannah Bananas game are purchased and my confirmation email says this purchase is a "legendary move. the news in Bananaland is spreading about our arrival and the Bananas are throwing a party for us"!  This sets the tone for some of the hilarity that we will be experiencing.  Perhaps you have seen the media coverage on ESPN, Fox Sports, CBS Sunday Morning or Access Hollywood to mention a few.

The trip also includes a trolley tour of the Historic District so you can get orientated to the city and explore on your own.  After all, there are only 22 historic squares to visit, each unique but home to beautiful southern homes, museums, historic churches and one of my favorites, the Prohibition Museum!

Our accommodations, The Historic River Street Inn, is located on the "rivah" as they say in Savannah, recently renovated and in the heart of the Historic District.

Payment Policy

Please note that you have payment options.  1.  Credit card but there is a fee. 2.  ACH bank draft - no fee or 3.  Venmo or 4.  You can send Patty a check.  If you choose to do this, please email me at tripsbypatty@gmail.com or call 404-791-3166

Cancellation Policy

If you need to cancel, refunds are dependent on the trip organizers ability to either resell the trip or recoup out-of-pocket expenses from the hotel, charter bus, trolley tour operator and ballgame tickets.

What if it rains?

Savannah does experience "pop-up" storms but it is rare that the entire game is cancelled.  The philosophy is that the "show must go on" even if the Banana Ball entertainment is shortened or delayed.  Our "open seating" tickets offer seating under cover.

I love to travel so in my partially retired life I decided to adapt my passion for travel along with 25 years of experience in Travel & Tourism to create Trips by Patty. I received a BA in American History from UNC-Chapel Hill. Not knowing what I was going to do with that degree, I started working as a desk clerk at a hotel in Raleigh. I enjoyed the hotel business and the career path began. Hotel operations and sales, Convention Center operations and marketing, destination marketing with a Convention Visitors Bureau and even a stint as a tour guide. What happened to the history degree? Well, many times when I am escorting my trips I share the history of the destinations we visit. It's a great feeling to take your career skills and adapt them to your own small business. I love what I do and hope you'll join me on a trip one day!

I enjoyed the trip. The Biltmore was in its Christmas splendor, the tour of the grounds was informative, the food at the Grove Park Inn was delicious, the shopping was great, and the accommodations comfortable. I’m glad the trip wasn’t cancelled. The people of Asheville were very appreciative of our patronage.

The trip was very well organized, enjoyable with various interesting stops along the route, such as Farmers Markets and Folk-Art Museum! We truly enjoyed the main attraction, Christmas at Biltmore, with it's breath taking beauty and charm! Comfortable accommodations, in particular the new smooth riding bus, and the company of friendly people made this trip and all around pleasant experience! Thank you, very well done Patty!
