About this trip

Since ancient times, Guatemalan women have developed the skill of weaving, using organic materials found in nature. Over time the textiles evolved and are used to capture the worldview and history of the different ethnic groups in the country. Today fabrics are a combination of symbols, designs, colors, techniques and ancient art that is transmitted from generation to generation.

During our tour, you will discover step by step how women are weaving identity in our communities. At the same time we will support the fight for the collective intellectual property of Maya Textiles in Guatemala.
