Itinerary

Day 1
TREK THROUGH JUNGLE, RICE PADDIES, HILL-TRIBE VILLAGES & WATERFALL

You'll meet your local English-speaking guide and then ride about 30 minutes to the Tiger Trail Adventure Camp on the banks of the Nam Khan River. Cross the river by boat and then begin an easy, 1.5-hour trek through beautiful jungle canopy, stopping along the way to explore a large, traditional Khmu village nestled in the mountains. You may enjoy lunch here or wait until you reach the waterfall, depending on the time and preferences of your group.

After the village visit, you'll continue trekking about 1.5 hours down to the Tad Sae Waterfall, where you may explore and swim (seasonal as the waterfall is dry February to July). Finally, board a long boat again for a short cruise downriver and then on to a vehicle for return to Luang Prabang city. Return time is approximately 2:00 p.m., depending on conditions and hiking speeds.

Total hiking time is about 3 hours.

Reviews

We were a group of 10 avid cyclists (MTB / Gravel) for whom Tiger Trails customised a varied point to point itinerary over 6 days early Oct north of Luang Prabang. Very good value. Advance organisation and communication was excellent. The team from Tiger Trails (drivers / riders) were exceptional people who, under some trying circumstances brought about by weather damaged routes, made a plan for every hurdle. Nothing was too much for them. Joyous, happy, ever smiling people and so willing to share their insights of their beautiful country. On the organisational part, nothing was a big issue, including last minute ticket bookings, hotel changes, and bike transfers. We'd definitely ask them to be of service again. Note: we seemed to be their first real group of riders as opposed to tourists using bicycles. Thus mechanic services are not offered and guides well prepared for 'touring' but possibly not as well equipped (kit / bikes) for hard riding. Despite this, the guys were amazing. Thank you to all at Tiger Trails
