About this trip

Peaksandposes is on a roll to visit another National Park. It will be our 4th one to date. September will be a magnificent time of year in Colorado with the summer crowds waning and the temperatures cooling down. We have 4 days of hiking in and around Rocky Mountain National Park. You should be capable of hiking 5-9 miles per day with our average hike being 5-6 miles per day.

This trip will include hiking, yoga, mindfulness, and other spiritual practices to connect, and to ourselves and others. Spending time in nature is one of the best daily practices we can incorporate into our day for our physical and emotional well-being.

Accommodations: Our spacious mountain home is conveniently located just 2 miles west of Estes Park. There is a nice paved sidewalk trail close to our home that goes into Estes Park along Fall River for a relaxing walk or bicycle ride into town (Some bikes are provided). We are also located 3 miles from the east entrances of Rocky NP.

Our home for the week is surrounded by 2 acres of beautiful peaceful land. Lots of wildlife and outdoor space to enjoy. It's common to see mountain goats and big-horned sheep on the property. How exciting!!

Our home has a variety of bedrooms and bed configurations. They all share one bathroom excluding the master bedroom with a private bathroom suite. Our home has central AC,  a washer/dryer, and a sunroom with seating for many to enjoy the view.

Dining

All of our meals (except one mid-week) are homemade and prepared on-site by our chef Majid. Lunch will be taken on the trail. Our meals are seasonal and plant-based with inspiration and creativity from the wisdom of Ayurveda and Majid's mom's Persian cooking. We will also focus on locally sourced food when possible. Dietary restrictions can be accommodated.

I am a four season peak bagger in New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine. I am exploring the Adirondacks of New York as well as Colorado 14'ers. My longest backpacking trip was 18 days on the John Muir Trail with a grand finale hiking Mt. Whitney! I am a Certified Health Coach and yoga instructor leading people to uplevel their health and reinvent themself. I am the most content outside hiking with my friends. I enjoy staying active through yoga, biking, x-country skiing and cooking seasonal plant based food.

I had an amazing time on this retreat led by Nancy and Cynthia! A beautiful setting, delicious meals, fireside conversation at night, fun activities including yoga, dancing, Thai partner massage, meditation and hiking. I learned more about Ayurveda and living a healthy life. This was a wonderful group of women coming together to connect and enjoy time away. I can’t wait to be part of this again! Thank you!

The Self-Care retreat was a wonderful getaway. Setu is a beautiful setting, and a lovely home away from home run by a devoted couple. Nancy and Cynthia lead a well-balanced retreat that included meditation, yoga, a choice of hikes, shared meals, optional massages, and 'me time.' Everything was considered optional, so each person could choose their own pace. It was nice to meet a great group of women and have a chance to chat and get to know one another, but also have time to settle in a quiet corner to read or relax. This was my second trip lead by Nancy, and it was as great as the first.
