About this trip

Embark on the most popular hiking route on the Alcúdia Peninsula, the trail leading to the summit of Talaia d'Alcúdia, the peninsula's highest point.

Located in the northern part of Mallorca, the Alcúdia Peninsula boasts a mix of landscapes, including rugged cliffs, sandy beaches, pine forests, and rural villages. This hike will allow you to connect with nature and immerse yourself in the beauty of Mallorca's northern coast.

"Sa Talaia" means watchtower, and the summit's name has its reason. At 446m above sea level remains the circular base of an old 16th-century tower and, a little further down, two huts where the soldiers took refuge during the Civil War. It was a watchtower that controlled the part of the bay that was not visible from Sa Penya Roja. Very exposed to storms and especially lightning, it was already in poor conditions when the military demolished it in 1918.

You'll meet the guide at La Victòria Hermitage car park, which is the start and the finish point of this circular route.

From the parking, the trail initially descends a steep footpath to the Torrent de s'Aladernar Gorge and after 300m, at the signpost indicating La Victoria Youth Hostel, you will turn left on a track that follows Torrent de ses Fontanelles.

Sa Talaia d'Alcúdia is the hike's highest and most impressive point. The views from the summit are phenomenal. For the descent to La Victoria, you'll take the northeast direction on a very stony path.
