We will transfer to Jorge Chávez International Airport for our morning flight to Huaraz, the gateway to the Cordillera Huayhuash. Upon arrival, we will head to our hotel and settle in before beginning our first acclimatization day. The afternoon will be free for rest, but for those who want to explore, there will be optional activities to make the most of our time in the town. 

We will meet with the Huayhuash Trek team for a detailed briefing to ensure we are fully prepared for the adventure ahead. This session will cover important logistics, safety protocols, and what to expect on the trail. To mark the beginning of our journey, we will also take part in an intention-setting ceremony, creating a meaningful start to our expedition and setting the tone for the days to come. 

Departure from Huaraz at 4:00 – 4:30 am for an approx. 5-hour drive to Cuartelhuain (4180 m), where we will begin our trek. We will hike to the first pass, Punta Cacanan (4750 m), before descending to our campsite at Mitucocha Lagoon (4150 m).

In the morning, we ascend via a new exploration route to the Alcaycocha Pass (4700 m), off views Mitucocha Lagoon, Siula Lagoon, and more. We will be at the base of impressive mountains such as Rondoy, Yerupajá Grande, Yerupajá Chico, Jirishanca, and Siula Grande. Then, we descend to our campsite by Carhuacocha Lagoon.

• Hiking time: Approximately 8 hours
• Camping: Carhuacocha Lagoon (4150 m)

We start our hike by following the contour of the lagoon until we reach the viewpoint of the Three Lagoons. From there, we ascend to Siula Pass (4800 m), with breathtaking views of the Yerupajá (6634 m) and Siula (6356 m) mountains. Then, we descend to Huayhuash to set up camp.

• Hiking time: Approximately 8 hours
• Camping: Huayhuash (4350 m)

After breakfast, we ascend for about 5 hours to Trapeze Pass (5000 m), the second-highest pass of the Huayhuash trek. From here, we will see peaks such as Trapecio, Pumarinri, Cuyoc, and Jurao. We will then set up camp.

• Hiking time: 5 - 6 hours
• Camping: Viconga Lagoon (4400 m)

We ascend for 2 hours to reach the San Antonio viewpoint, which offers spectacular views of mountains such as Siula, Trapecio, Jurao, and Yerupajá. Then, we descend into the Cutatambo Valley and continue toward the village of Huayllapa.

• Hiking time: 7 - 8 hours
• Camping: Huanacpatay (3800 m)

After breakfast, we head towards Yaucha Pass (4800 m) and visit the most panoramic viewpoint of the Huayhuash mountain range, Puka Puka (4800 m). We then descend to our campsite at Jahuacocha Lagoon.

• Hiking time: Approximately 7 hours
• Camping: Jahuacocha (4000 m)

After breakfast, we head towards Yaucha Pass (4800 m) and visit the most panoramic viewpoint of the Huayhuash mountain range, Puka Puka (4800 m). We then descend to our campsite at Jahuacocha Lagoon.

• Hiking time: Approximately 7 hours
• Camping: Jahuacocha (4000 m)

After breakfast, we ascend to the final pass, Punta Jahuacocha (4700 m), for a last view of the snowy peaks of the Huayhuash Range. We then descend to Pocpa and take the bus back to Huaraz. We sleep back in our hotel in Huaraz.
