Michigan's 'Black Eden' Deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE
Idlewild, once called the “Black Eden of Michigan”, is known for it's beautiful beaches, glistening lakes, and native wildlife. During the height of it's popularity, travelers from all over the country would go there to experience the exciting nightlife. Regularly featuring entertainers such as the legendary Lena Horne, Motown's The Four Tops and stage and screen star Della Reese.
After segregation ended, more entertainers of color were free to perform anywhere in the country and Idlewild became somewhat forgotten. Over the past two decades, there has been a renewed interest in Idlewild.
The Idlewild Blues & Jazz festival is annual event held the first weekend in August at the John Meeks Park. Musicians and visitors flock to the festival from all over the country. Join us for this one-day getaway, Saturday, August 5, 2023, and enjoy the music, food, folks and festivities!
Feel free to bring your favorite beverages, snacks and lawn chairs. Must be 21 years of age and older to participate. Adult beverages are allowed. but cannot be opened on the motor coach!
