About this trip

Reconnect with your true nature in a 10 Day Yoga Immersion in Kerala, India in a lush, tropical Ashram 3 km from Kovalam Beach.

This is our fourth year offering this Immersion. You will experience authentic India by living in newly built accommodations on the Ashram specifically designed for Yoga studies. The building is ecologically created of local materials. The rooms are simple, with en suite bathrooms. The Yoga Shala (hall) is above the rooms with a view in the distance of the Arabian Sea.

And the FOOD! Organic gardens help to supply healthy South Indian vegetarian meals with local, seasonal produce. Dietary restrictions can typically be accommodated.

Twice daily Yoga asana and pranayama classes are led by Bhooma Chaitanya. Bhooma-ji teaches Sivananda style classical Yoga. We will have meditation and Yogic and Life Philosophy class each day with Swami Yogeshananda.

We will have a chance to learn about Ayurveda, India's ancient healing system and sister science to Yoga.

There is ample time during the day for rest, reflection and for time to yourself.

Diverse activities and cultural events will round off each day, leaving you fulfilled and ready for sleep.

A specially planned day trip is part of our program, a wonderful way to see more of Incredible India.

Kovalam. Kerala

The state of Kerala, known as "God's Own Country", is the south-westernmost state of India. Literacy rates are high and the people are warm and caring.

Kovalam translates as a grove of coconut trees and true to its name the village offers an endless sight of coconut trees. There are three crescent shaped beaches and a lighthouse, making it a favorite spot to relax and unwind.

Elizabeth and Tara created a great calming energy for the group, the schedule was very easy and we all felt free to do whatever we’d like. It was so nice to be surrounded by a natural environment and hear the birds and crickets. The yoga was relaxing and the meals were delicious and things I would not have at home, which was a nice treat. My favorite part was an African dance class. Loved incorporating dance into the whole weekend. I would join them at another retreat!

Elizabeth and Tamara always put on a wonderful retreat. The activities are perfectly balanced between yoga classes, other nourishing activities and free time. Both of them are fabulous yoga teachers and you can always tell so much thought and care goes into these events. You can also get a fabulous massage from Tamara as part of your retreat experience. Highly recommended if you're looking for a way to renew and refresh.
