Day 1

Transfer to Cotacachi: Enjoy a scenic 2-hour journey from Quito to Cotacachi

through the Andes, passing by beautiful mountain landscapes and small

traditional villages. The route offers stunning views of Ecuadorian volcanoes and

countryside. 

• Check-in at Morochos Community: The Comunidad de Morochos, located at 2,500 meters above sea level, is known for its rich cultural heritage and indigenous

traditions. Here, you can experience authentic local hospitality and learn about

the ancestral customs of the residents. 

• Trekking Around Cuicocha Lagoon: Cuicocha Lagoon is a volcanic crater lake

located at 3,068 meters above sea level. The trek around the lake offers

spectacular views of the crater islands and Andean flora. It’s a perfect spot for

nature and hiking enthusiasts. 

• Visit to Alpacas and Area Tour: Get up close with alpacas, iconic animals of the

Andes, and learn about their importance to local communities. The tour provides

insight into rural life and regional biodiversity, allowing you to interact with these

charming animals. 

• Visit to Artisan Workshop: Visit a workshop where artisans transform alpaca wool

into fine textiles. Watch the spinning and weaving process and discover how these

beautiful pieces are created. It’s an educational experience showcasing the skill

and dedication of local artisans. 

• Dinner: Enjoy a dinner featuring traditional Ecuadorian dishes in a cozy setting.

This is a perfect time to savor more local cuisine and share your day’s experiences

with fellow travelers. 

• Conclude the day with unforgettable memories and a deeper connection to the

culture and nature of Cotacachi. This itinerary offers a rich and varied experience

that will surely leave a lasting impression. 

Day 2

• Photo Time in the Community: Take the opportunity to capture special moments

and the beauty of the Comunidad de Morochos. The architecture, landscapes,

and local people provide a perfect backdrop for your photographic memories. 

• Pambamesa Lunch: Share an outdoor communal lunch known as Pambamesa.

This event is a display of the generosity and hospitality of the Andean people,

where various traditional dishes are shared at a large communal table. 

• Return to Quito: After a day full of culture and celebration, begin your journey

back to Quito. Enjoy the scenery and reflect on the experiences of these two days. 

Day 1

We welcome the passengers, and our national guide gives a warm welcome to

Quito. 

- Next, we will transfer to Angochagua, and it will be an interesting journey as the

view of the entire province of Imbabura is unique and magical.

- Upon arriving at Pondo Wasi Lodge, we will receive a brief introduction to the

establishment while we explore its facilities. We will stop at the museum, where

we will learn about the Andean worldview of the indigenous peoples from this

part of our country, including descriptions of their ancestral cooking practices,

traditional clothing, and alternative medicine techniques. 

- During the stay at Pondo Wasi, we will take a hike to the Muchanajun Rumi

viewpoint, where we will enjoy a unique and magical view, including a panoramic

view of elevations such as Imbabura, Cubilche, and Cunrru. We will also learn

about the community's legends and myths regarding the special meaning of this

site. During the land offering ritual, each of us will have the opportunity to thank

Pacha Mama for allowing our life on Earth. 

-  Upon returning to the Lodge, a delicious lunch made with community products

will await us. Later, you will be involved in the entire process of making bread in

a wood-fired oven. In the afternoon, you will experience a Temazcal steam bath,

which has various health benefits and is a demonstration of ancestral medicine,

with steam generated by hot volcanic stones and accompanied by boiled

medicinal plant water. 

-  The day concludes with a spectacular dinner featuring Pondo Wasi's specialties. 

- A small night time bonfire will follow, where stories and legends of the area, such

as the chuzalongo and huacaizique, the small protective spirits, will be shared.

Day 2

After breakfast, we will prepare our lunch using an ancestral cooking technique

known as Pachamanca, which involves cooking food in the ground with the heat

of volcanic stones, giving it an exquisite flavour. 

- We will check out of Pondo Wasi Lodge and head to Quito, the capital of Ecuador.

Day 1

We will check in with the passengers at the departure point.  

• Then, we will head to Cotogchoa, where we will visit the "CBD solutions" farm.

• We will tour the CBD Solutions farm, where we will observe how medicinal 

medicine is planted, cared for, fertilized, and harvested. A step-by-step

explanation of the entire process will be provided.

- After the farm tour, we will enjoy a delicious and entertaining pambamesa

brunch, as the theme of the tour is to preserve ancestral customs and traditions. 

- After the pambamesa brunch, we will proceed to return to Quito to continue

with our tour. 

- Upon arrival in Quito, we will visit "La Magistral" pharmacy, where we will have

an interesting tour and receive an explanation of the production of some

medicinal products. 

- At the end, we will visit CME, which offers medicinal and topical products made

with CBD. Passengers will be given tastings and souvenirs of CBD products. 

We will end our tour by transporting the passengers to the places where we

initially picked them up.
