Surf Level Required: must be able to catch your own waves.
With 3 top professional longboarders as our surf coaches, an emphasis on improving our surfing skills will be priority throughout the retreat! Kassia Meador, Leah Dawson, and Makala Smith have long been studying the techniques of surfing, and have been coaching and hosting. Salty Sensations retreats together for four years. Their in-depth, warm-hearted coaching is highly unique as they help to bring focus to tips that can help surfers where ever they are in their surfing journey. The surf coaching team will identify personal progress tips for each participant.
Co. Sligo offers a variety of waves. We suggest bringing longboards, fun boards or fishes if you like to ride them!

5. Wetsuits (depending on your comfortability - this time of year is in flux as autumn fills in and the cooler days begin to bring the waves. We. suggest bringing. two suits - , 4/3 when its sunny, 5/4. when its not! If you like to wear booties, bring them. Most locals don't wear them in September as its still relatively warm, at least compared to winter there!

16.SURFBOARD - Longboards, mid lengths, fishes- bring what you like to ride! Dublin airport recently updated their systems so Longboards are able to travel through the airport now!!

Sept. 16-21 -
Surfing takes priority!! We will make our schedule daily based on the swell available.
We plan to spend at least 4 hours at the beach each day. Sometimes we can do two different sessions a day, depending on the tide and swell forecasts.
We will balance surfing, body movement practices, rejuvenating seaweed bath's, a hike up to the top of the sacred Knocknarae and other Irish wonders, and other fun activities throughout the week.
We will have dinner at the Gyreum each night. At least three nights, we will do a group video feedback session to learn and grow with each other!
