Phantastic experience ! Ride on elephants neck was very special, great experience. No elephant ride with wooden construction which results in pain for the elephant. Elephants can move on 280 ha of land. You can feed the elephants with sugar cane. They like it as a snack, but their main food they take by themselfes in the forest. It is a great place for elephants which grow up with people and can not survive in wilderness. They need a camp like this to survive !  Please visit this camp to support this concept !
Organisation of the trip booked at MANIFA was excellent. Pick up at the hotel, transfer to boat and privat boat to the elephant camp.
Return to hotel directly by car. At the camp drinks and food was provided free of charge.
Thanks to MANIFA travel for this great service !

半日ツアーや1日ツアーもありましたが、時間に余裕があるなら断然2日間のキャンプをおすすめします。
たっぷり象と触れ合える時間があるし、他のツアー客がいない時間に象を1人占めできました。
日本では絶対に味わえない非日常体験ができます。
象も優しくて、とっても可愛いかったです。
エレファントキャンプのスタッフの皆さんはとても優しく、いたせりつくせりでした。
ご飯もアルコールも飲み放題、プールもあってリラックスできます。
その日、2日間のツアーを申し込んでいたのは私だけだったのですが、スタッフのchitさんが夜ご飯や朝ご飯の時など、話し相手になってくれました。
死ぬまでにもう一度来たいと思える場所でした。
動物好きならぜひ、訪れてみてください。

The trip is very well organized , waterfall are amazing but elephant experience is incredible , you ride them for more than half an hour . 
The park has a good maintenance and elephants are treated well 5 stars

個人では行きにくい名所を連れて行ってもらい、満足のいくツアーでした。クルーズではゆっくり、時間を過ごすことができました。

また、ツアーガイドが一緒にアルコールを飲むことは良いと思うが、若い女性にお酒を飲ませている所を何度もみかけ、正直不快でした。

This was a great trip and WAY more hands on than I expected. You're very much riding the elephants and doing a lot of the steering on your own. And the playing around in the water was great too. Also, excellent lunch. I would say the 1/2 day with the elephants is probably plenty and the full day isn't necessary. Do one of the 1/2 and 1/2 packages with something else combined.

Well organized trip. The guide was very friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed the buffet lunch and elephant feeding after the kayaking.

We really enjoyed the experience.  The highlight was the elephant experience getting up close (and riding bareback) to the elephants and spending time with them.  We also learned about the history of elephants in Laos and how endangered they now are.  Manifa seems to be doing a very good job caring for the 13 elephants in their compound.

Our tour guide, Van (sp?), was patient and looked out for us throughout the entire tour.  We switched to the kayaking, Pak Ou cave, Whiskey Village, and sunset cruise the day before - We Travel was responsive and accommodating.

I would highly recommend this trip when visiting Luang Prabang. 

We had great time with the guide , lot of knowledge , the trekking was hard but Amazing, thank you very much!!!

去年はバイクで怪我をしてメコン川に入らなかったので再度申し込みました。象に直接乗れたり自由時間に象にバナナをあげたりできます。ここにはマイペースで寄り道をする象、用を足す時にわざわざ草むらに寄る象など様々な性格の象がおり、来る度に新しく気付く事があります。ルアンパバーンに寄る時はまた参加します。

I visited Laos from Japan on a solo trip. The main purpose of my trip was to have a great experience with Manifa Travel.
They let me experience things here that I cannot experience in Japan.
I was surprised that the elephants were much bigger than I had imagined and their skin was harder as well.
I will never forget this wonderful experience. Thank you very much for the fun memories!

[EUR] F10 MAHOUT BASIC TRAINING PROGRAM AND PAK OU CAVES

I had a great experience to ride a elephant. Riding elephants are very tough than horses because they don't have a chair on the elephants. I was exhausted but great. Almost people join the cave tour etc after lunch, but I resumed riding. I learned some languages to talk to elephants, and I rode an elephant by myself without support. (but, instructor walked beside of me & elephant)
If you have time to spend in Luang Prabang, I recommend resuming riding after lunch.

Kuang Si waterfalls are very beautiful. We can swim in one of the ponds, it was cool so I forgot that there is ASEAN. There was deep in some spots in the pond, so we can dive into pond. The tour has 2 plans, I only joined half day tour. It was reasonable. But I was bored in the village.

Overall we are enjoying the trip given the timeframe for us to walk round take pictures, exploring the places and the time explanation by our tour guide Phong who is very knowledgable and deserve big tip from us. 

Only two drawbacks highlighted. First will be because this is shared tour, there could be sometime a bit not comfortable in terms of jamming within the tour buddies around in small van and sometimes give me myself as tall guy a bit of inconvenient. Second my experience engaging with Manifa sales rep that non responsive of WhatsApp sometimes gives nerve racking until i need to make sure this tour is really covered especially when luckily we found the company location within old town location which nearby with our accommodation.  But overall still like this itinerary tour. 

What a day!  We can’t thank Manila travel enough for this amazing experience!  All of the guides, drivers, cooks and everyone else involved were very friendly and helpful. We felt very looked after on this trip. We visited a lovely village with friendly people, cycled through beautiful countryside, kayaked along the river, had a delicious lunch, spent time with elephants and visited Pak Ou caves.  I would recommend this for fit people that enjoy an active tour. I slightly over estimated my physical abilities but allowances were made for me which I really appreciated. Thank you so much for a brilliant day that I will never forget.

We had an amazing 1/2 day trip. Waterfalls were beautiful and lovely to swim in. It was great to see the moon bears at the Save The Bears sanctuary. Enjoyed learning about Hmong culture from our village visit.   We had a fantastic, knowledgeable and entertaining guide.  Highly recommended.

We had an excellent experience, kayaking and going to the waterfalls. Our guide was lovely, polite and took great care of us. Also the food we received was one of the best meals we've ever been provided in such excursions - full, freshly made buffet of quality food, mix of local and western dishes. Highly recommended

The hike was very well planned and it was a great opportunity to enjoy the nature, see two local villages and learn a lot about local culture and tribes. It is definitely worth it and a special thanks to our excellent guide, Year!

On a passé un bon moment, endroit respectueux des éléphants même si pour ma part on ne monte pas sur leur dos. Ça restera une journée gravée et une belle rencontre avec les éléphants et le personnel du sanctuaire 

Our tour guide Bun was excellant and informative. We covered the citys' major sites, had a good experience and some insight into their daily life in the morning market.

We had a wonderful lunch along the Mekong and got to see the elephants up close. Had to wait over 2 hours for a group coming from waterfall to join boat cruise.

Cruise to pak ou caves was scenic and the boat was clean and well stocked with water, beer, and snacks. Sunset cruise was pleasant.

It was really fun learning about the elephants at the sanctuary and getting to ride one! The tour guide was awesome too. 

This day trip was excellent! We loved the boat ride and the elephants were phenomenal! What a great experience! The water falls were beautiful. Thank you Year for being such a great guide and sharing your knowledge with us!! We will recommend this trip to everyone that we know!

The trip exceeded our expectations. 

We had a wonderful three-day trip, mostly because of our amazing and kind guide Vone. Our trip started off with the van ride to the trekking starting point, where we set out tracking into the village of Ngad. The trip had a big diversity of walking terrain, and Vone was good at explaining any questions we had during the trip. The Ngad village was an enormous experience, especially because it was clear that outside visits were a rarity, and the locals seemed excited to have us there, showing us around. We stayed with a local and very welcoming and generous family that prepared us food and made a traditional Khmu ceremony.

Vone was, in general, extremely good at tailoring the trip to our wishes, and whatever we wanted to see and experience in the village, he would make it possible. For example, we got to visit the school, be a part of the English education, and play football against the kids at recess, see the local hospital and talk to the doctors, visit the village Shaman and see his ceremony, and much more.

As we were extremely late at booking the trip, staying at the other village the second day wasn't a possibility - therefore Vone planned that we could stay at the Elephant Sanctuary, where he worked when he isn't on trips like these. The sanctuary was really nice, and Vone made sure that we got taken care of, and did not miss anything at all. The Sanctuary had lots of activities available, and we could freely choose whatever we wanted to do the last day - here Vone took us on an amazing kayaking trip to the nearby Buddha cave, and we got to ride the sanctuary's newly bought mountain bikes on a route nearby.

We want to thank Vone and Manifa Travel for a wonderful trip and highly recommend anybody doing it as well.

100% advisable !! Just book with this company !
We had a wonderful day with the elephants. The staff is very warm and friendly with the elephants and they are protected from poachers who kill all wild elephants. Please support these people to protect the elephants in Laos. The riding with the elephants does not harm them. It is like horses who are not harmed by riding them. The staff is very friendly to the elephants : at a certain moment the elephant stopped to make some bowel movements. The mahout waited patiently and told us to have patience until the elephant has dropped his pooh. This was a very nice gesture to the elephant. We are very satisfied. M&P Belgium

We had a wonderful active day, we discovered new adpects of laos. The whole day was perfectly organized and our guide Von was very nice and friendly, he could explain us a lot about Laos and he was a perfect guide.

[EUR] H03 Elephant Mahout Training half day (No pick-up and drop-off)

A very well organised tour that involves a lot more than just visiting the caves and waterfall. The day ran smoothly and the lunch was great. Tour guide was friendly and helpful. Definitely the best way to see the caves and waterfall in Luang Prabang.

Wir hatten extra eine private tour mit guide gebucht in der Hoffnung hier gut informiert zu werden und auch nicht die in den anderen Bewertungen beschriebenen Verspätungen und Kürzungen zu erleben. Die Tour sollte 8:30 starten um 9:30 wurden wir dann abgeholt (die Stunde hätten wir gerne länger geschlafen). Schnell stellte sich heraus, daß unser guide kaum Englisch sprach und weder über die Tour informiert war (fuhr falsche Reihenfolge) und einfach keine Ahnung hatte! Er war zwar nett und freundlich aber für das Geld war es einfach unglaublich! Wir beschwerten uns mehrfach in der Agentur und bekamen dann ab 14:00 im Elefantencamp einen neuen guide. Dieser war hervorragend! Wie kann es sein, daß man uns anfangs einen guide gab, der nicht ansatzweise Sprache und Tour kannte? Bei diesem Preis ehrlich gesagt eine Frechheit. Hätten wir uns nicht beschwert, wäre das so durchgegangen. Wir würden nicht wieder mit Manifa buchen.

I came all the way from Salt Lake City to spend time with the elephants. It was well worth the trip. We got a lot of quality time with them. We got to ask lots of questions. The elephants seemed content and well fed. You can choose to ride the elephant bareback or with a saddle. I chose bareback, while others in my party chose the saddle. We had one elephant per person. All of our party really enjoyed the excursion. We also went to the Kwansai Si  waterfall (probably spelled wrong :).  They were beautiful. Our guide named Year was FANTASTIC!!!! 
Just a few things to know:
They do provide clothing to wear (since the elephants go for a dip in the river and you may get wet or muddy) a towel and a shower. They do not have larger sizes. I am ladies large back home and the extra large (which is the largest size) fit me.  So, you may want to bring a change of your own clothes to wear on the elephant. But you don’t have to worry about a towel.
At the falls, you can swim, but it was VERY crowded so we passed on the swim and just walked to viewing point at the top. We only spent an hour at the falls, which to us was plenty but definitely worth seeing.  I would highly recommend this excellent experience to all who love elephants.. 

We enjoyed our trip and the tour company was excellent. Great tour and would definitely recommend.

Nice one day trip to experience the must see in LPB area. 

The program was amazing! I enjoyed riding on an elephant and the vew from there was awsome.  But I was disappointed because they didn't give me certificate on paper even though I sent my photo beforehand.

Trip was as advertised when we booked and we had a really good day. There was plenty of food and drink and the staff were very helpful. Feel we had a taste of Lao. Definitely good value for money!

F06 ELEPHANT INTERACTIONS . PAK OU CAVES . KUANG SI FALL

We highly recommend this active day tour!  Our guide Vone did a super job!  The cycling was enjoyable and had great views (where Vone took our picture), followed by a shower then a tasty lunch at elephant camp, We were able to feed and touch the elephants too!  Vone accommodated our request to kayak with just him and he got a different guide to go with the unathletic family. Vone shared a lot of history and culture with us. We enjoyed the sunset cruise back too!  Vone handed out cold water, beer and banana chips. 
A great, active day!

Booking was easy on the website and confirmed quickly. The cost was €90 for 2 adults. 

Our tour guide contacted us the day before our tour to confirm our tour and hotel and to get our height to ensure the correct size bikes.

Von, our tour guide, met us at our hotel at 8am on the day as arranged, with our bikes, helmets and water. We cycled through a few villages, stopping at the paper village, whiskey distilling and silk production areas. When we reached our lunch destination (described in the booking as a picnic lunch) - we were blown away by the venue. It’s an amazing elephant sanctuary on the banks of the Mekong river with the most amazing views. The BBQ buffet was incredible, literally all you can eat and drinks included (alcoholic or soft drinks). The boss of the venue, a lovely man, very kindly gave us a talk all about the elephants and the work done by the sanctuary to look after and protect the elephants. We saw them eating and playing in the river, we didn’t expect to see all this! What a bonus.

Next we got the little bus down to the river for kayaking. Life jackets on. Personal stuff placed in a waterproof bag and secured in the kayak. Larger items can be stored in a locker at the lunch venue. 2-man kayaks were safe and comfortable. Von was very kind to take photos and videos of us in the water. We kayaked to the Pak Ou Caves. The entry fee is included. We spent around 30-mins wandering around looking at the caves with 1000 Buddhas, quite amazing!
Be warned though, there are many steps. The views are amazing though. 
We kayaked back to the lunch venue, we had a cold beer (included in price) and we showered and changed (towels provided). We then walked a short distance through the village to get the boat back. 

The boat has undercover seating or chairs and loungers on the deck. Beers and snacks provided (also included). The cruise back was delightful. So calm and warm, we watched the sunset which was beautiful. Von took a lots of photos for us (and others on the boat).

This tour is so well organised. Von’s knowledge and passion for his country is just delightful, what a credit he is. My review probably doesn’t do this tour justice, it really was a great day. Much, much more than we expected, easily a 5-star day. For the price we paid, it was such good value and we didn’t pay for another thing, apart from a well earned tip to our guide.

Elephant riding was the best, not the most comfortable with someone with long legs.  My wife who was not too excited about going was more thrilled than I afterwards.   The path goes up and down through a stream ending in the big river where they submerge.   You’re going to get wet.  I think they should spend more time feeding the elephants at the beginning .   Had a great lunch buffet at the end.
