Itinerary
Arrive at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, where you’ll be welcomed and transferred to your hotel. Take the day to rest or explore the vibrant city of Kathmandu. Start the day with a 45-minute flight from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur. After landing, take a scenic Jeep drive to either Fiddim (5–6 hours) or directly to Taplejung (8–9 hours), depending on flight time. Today, embark on a 4–5 hour Jeep drive from Taplejung to Sekathum, passing through lush hillsides and winding rivers. This scenic route introduces you to the natural beauty and subtropical vegetation of the Kanchenjunga region. Sekathum offers a tranquil environment for an overnight stay at a local teahouse.
Begin trekking with a 4–6 hour hike from Sekathum to Amjilosa. Cross suspension bridges over the Ghunsa Khola and follow trails through bamboo and rhododendron forests. At 2,340m, Amjilosa provides a peaceful atmosphere to unwind. Overnight at a teahouse with a stunning view of the valley.
Today’s trek from Amjilosa to Gyabla takes 4–5 hours. As you ascend to 2,730m, enjoy glimpses of Kanchenjunga and other snow-capped peaks in the distance. The route winds through pine forests and small villages, offering insight into local life. Gyabla’s teahouses provide a warm welcome in a scenic setting.
A 4–5 hour trek from Gyabla to Ghunsa awaits, with gradual elevation gain to 3,475m. The trail takes you through terraced fields and vibrant forests. Ghunsa, a Tibetan Buddhist village, is known for its friendly locals and cultural richness. Stay at the Dzonga family house, offering attached bathrooms, a bakery, and fresh coffee.

Take an optional 3–4 hour hike to Jannu Viewpoint for close-up views of Jannu’s distinctive pyramid shape. The viewpoint offers a perfect opportunity for photography and further acclimatization. Return to Khambachen for a relaxing afternoon at the White House lodge.
Today’s trek takes you from Khambachen to Lhonak over 4–6 hours, reaching 4,780m. The trail follows the Kanchenjunga Glacier, with spectacular views of the northern face of Kanchenjunga. Overnight stay at Lhonak Guest House, surrounded by a dramatic glacial landscape.
Embark on a 7–8 hour round-trip trek to Pangpema Base Camp, the northern base of Kanchenjunga at 5,143m. Marvel at panoramic views of Kanchenjunga, Wedge Peak, and the surrounding glaciers. After reaching the base camp, return to Lhonak for an overnight stay.
