Cancellation Policy
At Destination Congo, we understand that sometimes travel plans can change. Our goal is to make the cancellation process as straightforward and fair as possible. Below is our cancellation policy:
Cancellation by Traveler

Up to 60 Days Before Departure:
- Cancellations made up to 60 days before the scheduled departure date will receive a full refund minus a 10% administration fee.

59 to 30 Days Before Departure:
- Cancellations made between 59 and 30 days before the scheduled departure date will receive a 50% refund of the total trip cost.

29 to 15 Days Before Departure:
- Cancellations made between 29 and 15 days before the scheduled departure date will receive a 25% refund of the total trip cost.

14 Days or Less Before Departure:
- Cancellations made 14 days or less before the scheduled departure date are non-refundable.
Cancellation by Destination Congo
In the unlikely event that Destination Congo needs to cancel a trip, travelers will receive a full refund of all payments made. We are not responsible for any additional expenses incurred by travelers in preparing for the trip (such as non-refundable flights or travel insurance).
Changes to Itinerary
- Changes requested by the traveler after booking may incur additional fees and are subject to availability.
- If changes are required due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g., weather, political situations), we will do our best to provide suitable alternatives without additional cost to the traveler.
Travel Insurance
We strongly recommend that all travelers purchase comprehensive travel insurance that includes coverage for trip cancellations, medical emergencies, and other unexpected events.
Refund Process
Refunds will be processed within 14 business days of receiving the cancellation request. All refunds will be issued using the same method of payment used for the initial booking.

General Health Information
It's important for travelers to prioritize their health before any trip. We recommend scheduling an appointment with your healthcare provider at least four to six weeks before your departure. Even if time is limited, this appointment is valuable as it allows for an assessment of potential health risks based on factors like your destination, medical history, and planned activities. For those with existing health conditions, an earlier appointment is advisable.
Here are some key health considerations before travelling with us to Kinshasa:
All travelers should ensure they have adequate travel health insurance.
Malaria Prevention:
We strongly advise travelers to take prescription medication to prevent malaria. Depending on the medication prescribed, you may need to start taking it several days before your trip, continue during your stay, and after your return. Consult your doctor to determine the most suitable malaria medication for you.
Yellow Fever Vaccination:
Under International Health Regulations, all travelers aged 9 months and above are required to have a yellow fever vaccination certificate to enter the DRC.
COVID-19 Requirements:
As of now, there are no specific COVID-19 testing or vaccination requirements for travelers
entering the DRC. However, we recommend staying informed about any updates or changes in regulations.

- FlightsPlease note that flights are not included in the package. You will need to arrange your own flights, but we can assist with this if needed.
- Travel InsuranceAll travelers are advised to arrange their own travel insurance for this trip.
- Personal ExpensesPlease ensure you have enough funds to cover your personal expenses, such as food, drinks, and any other purchases throughout the trip
- Airport TaxPlease ensure you have funds to pay the Go Pass fee ($65) at the airport for your departure.
- Food and DrinksFood and drinks during site visits aren't included. Breakfast is provided with your accommodation.

Our Activities-Only package is designed for those who prefer to arrange their own travel and accommodation but still wish to participate in our events in Kinshasa. This package is ideal for individuals who have local knowledge and contacts in Kinshasa.
Package Includes:
- Transportation to all scheduled activities and events (You'll have to meet us at a designated location)
- Local guides.
- Entry to all included activities.
Please Note: Transportation to and from the designated meet-up locations is not included. It is your responsibility to arrive on time, and no refunds will be issued for missed events.
