Come chase the magic of Fall in the PNW and mainly the surrounding areas of Leavenworth, Wa in mid to late October 2025. This seasonal 1:1 session will revolve around training your eye to see patterns and leading lines In correlation with the colors of autumn. If you've struggled with composing images and getting into an editing workflow you're comfortable with, this is the workshop for YOU! Limited days available and you will choose the available date on the check-out page that best suites your schedule.

BEGINNER - ADVANCED

*DISCLAIMER: HIKING DIFFICULTY LEVEL IS TAYLORED TO YOUR ABILITIES. WE CAN DO VERY MINIMAL HIKING RIGHT OFF THE ROAD OR GET SOME MULTI MILE HIKES IN.

• Scouting and evaluating conditions

• Composing an image to grab the viewer’s attention

• Composing an image with a person in frame to show scale and tell a story

• Utilizing apps, such as PhotoPills, for more efficient planning

• Choosing the right lens and filters for wave photography

• How to shoot with a plan and vision for editing your image

• Histogram - how to read for perfectly exposed images

• Exposure control - how to use ISO, Aperture and Shutter Speed in different scenarios

• Bracketing, Perspective Blending and Focus Stacking

• Long Exposure - how to capture motion in water

• Stacking Stars for Noise Reduction - how to shoot the proper frames to stack

• Lightroom and Photoshop - learn our post-processing workflow

• Luminosity Masks

• Dodging and Burning

• Understanding layers and masks

• Finishing touches using clone stamp and removing distractions

• Creating Orton glows and painting with light

• Build Social Media Presence - how to maximize engagement

My goal is to leave you feeling confident, motivated and passionate about your photography with a new set of ideas and perspective! I will teach simple and actionable techniques to scout out incredible compositions and the process of how to approach and execute unique photos in a moody and colorful environment. The classroom portion of this adventure will teach you a combination of Lightroom and Photoshop workflows and methods that will allow you to create some powerful images. Since we are 1:1 I will be going into a deep dive on layers and masking in Photoshop and YOU WILL understand them after this workshop. The beauty of being 1:1 allows us to edit YOUR photos with screen recordings documenting every click of the mouse. This is powerful tool to go back to rewatch and absorb and learn ALL the techniques you learned during our time together.

Sunset adventure - We will start shooting a few hours before sunset to get some golden light on the changing foliage.

Next morning - Sunrise Shoot at one of the lakes in the area.

*** If you choose a multi day you will not only get a discount on the following days but also more opportunities to capture different conditions. I always advise for multi days (if possible) as we can't control the weather and you increase your chances in capturing more magical conditions. We also can spend substantial more time exploring and editing your photos together.

*We will be chasing conditions and constantly monitoring the weather. The itinerary may change based on what conditions are during the workshop.

Meet the Instructors
Kenny LeRose
Welcome to my world of art, where I thrive creating and teaching photography. Living a nomadic life since 2017, I am a full time photographer and educator, hosting dozens of group masterclass workshops and 1-on-1 photography adventure workshops every year all over the country. For me, photography isn’t just about capturing an image, it’s a free-flowing way to express my creative side using my camera as one of the main tools. As with many tools, there is so much room to grow and become more in tune with your craft. My passion lies just as much in sharing my own skills, techniques and teachings as it does guiding students to hone their own skills and/or discover what photography means to them.

For me, teaching is a way to grow as an artist. How we see nature is a very personal thing and I believe there is no right way to capture it. Instead, sharpening our skill set out in the field and in the digital dark room unfolds the full potential (myself and others see when they admire your work). Surrounding ourselves with other creatives of all skill levels as well as other highly motivated photographers helps to push boundaries to unlock more of our own potential.

My passion for teaching my masterclass workshops and 1-on-1 classes stem from my own experiences breaking into photography. I remember clicking away at nature as my therapy, but wanting to create impactful images that evoke emotion. I wished I knew someone, anyone, that could mentor me and put me on a fast track to invest in my passion and seek the results I knew I was capable of. I see a piece of me in every student and I get true enjoyment in watching others grow that passion.
Another way I’ve found photography to inspire a creative side of me I never knew I had was through writing. As I publish images on Social Platforms such as Instagram, I write a poem to go with each image. They tend to reflect the images, experiences and people along the way of my journey. It’s amazing to see how one creative outlet can lead to another.

This wasn't my first time on a photography trip with Kenny, which by itself should tell you something. This trip was the best yet! I had contacted him ahead of time to let him know what kinds of things I was interested in shooting and he suggested the dates that would have the best probability of providing the perfect conditions. Obviously, he couldn't guarantee that those conditions would materialize, but on this particular trip, he definitely hit the nail right on the head!! Once I arrived and we met up, he didn't just dictate where we would go and what we would shoot, he suggested all the possibilities and left it up to me which sounded the most interesting. Of course, his knowledge of the area is superb, so a less experienced photographer would also do well just leaving it in Kenny's hands! This was definitely one of the most productive and enjoyable photo trips that I've taken. I started out by saying that this wasn't my first trip with Kenny and I'll end by saying that it DEFINITELY won't be my last!! If you're on the fence about whether to book a trip (either 1:1 or one of his workshops) DO IT! You won't be disappointed!!

This was my 3rd trip with Kenny and the crew. That should say it all. It wont be my last. Kenny, Michael and Jason are all super talented photographers and mentors. They are very patient and attentive to your abilities and your needs. The scenery was amazing but the personal attention was even better. I highly recommend going with them anywhere. The other students were also great to learn from and its a great way to make long lasting friendships. You would be crazy not to book a trip right now with Kenny...you will be so happy you did....!!!!!

Superb leadership led us to great photo spots under the best weather conditions. I learned several techniques for photographing waves and came away with amazing shots. If you like the Oregon coast, you'll love this workshop!

Very satisfied with the workshop. It really served to open my eyes and will improve my photography for years to come. Michael, Kenny and Jason were never a stones throw away when advice was needed.
