The Langtang Valley trek passes through the Langtang National Park. This trek rewards hikers with rich biodiversity in subtropical and alpine landscapes. The forest covers over 25% of the entire 1,700 square kilometres of protected national parkland. Many famous Himalayan ranges such as Langtang and Langtang Linrung fall in this region.

The Langtang trek is the right combination of the Langtang valley’s traditional Tamang villages to the holy Gosainkunda lake. The mesmerizing snowy peaks of the Langtang, Jugal, and Ganesh Himal Ranges. This trek is the perfect choice for everyone, from beginners to experienced hikers.
The Langtang valley and Gosainkunda Trek begin after a drive from Kathmandu to the starting point of Syabrubensi. The trek follows the trails next to the Langtang River, heading towards Langtang and Jugal Himal Ranges close to the Tibetan border. You will pass through several small Tamang hamlets. You will even get to the beautiful Langtang village, situated at the base of Langtang Lirung 7227m. The trail continues to Kyangjin Gompa from Langtang village.
The Swiss Development Corporation built a cheese production centre at Kyangjin Gompa in the 1950s. We explore the upper valley on our extra day at Kyangjin Gompa.
We retrace our steps back to Bamboo before heading towards Gosainkunda Lake via Thulo Syabru, Shing Gompa, and Lauribina. Gosainkunda is a holy Lake for both Hindus and Buddhists alike.
