About this trip

Just returned from a week-long trip to Scotland.  We had a great experience!  The courses we played were outstanding and the accommodations were nice.  We did three days in the Highlands and four days in St. Andrews.  It was a long drive from Inverness to St. Andrews, especially after 36 holes but it was worth it.  Our driver was great and he made sure we arrived everywhere on time.  We had a couple of extra requests while we were in Scotland and Fairways to Heaven was able to deliver.  It was very much appreciated.  Can't wait to plan another trip.

Great trip - it was well planned and supported throughout with a personal touch.

NCR Country Club - Northwest & Southwest Ireland 2024

We had a remarkable golf experience to Northern Ireland playing Royal Portrush, Ardglass, Portstewart, County Louth and Royal County Down! The Royal's rankings, #4 and #1 in the World respectively, were fitting and a true test of golf. Our group enjoyed playing and would recommend the other three courses as well. Belfast proved to be a great city to stay while there with good nightlife in the Cathedral District and cultural attractions close by (Black Cab Tour / Peace Wall / Titanic Museum). And we would definitely recommend Giant Causeway after golfing at Portrush and/or Portstewart. 

From the time the boys touched down in Dublin their transportation crew rolled out the red carpet - thank you Thomas! And our local contact was only a call away and helped book all restaurant reservations and tours - thank you Niall, getting 12 guys into some of those hot spots was no easy feat! 

We can't thank Mike O'Toole and the entire team from Fairways to Heaven enough for planning such an incredible golf experience!

The trip was fabulous. Great Golf. Accommodations also were very good.  The only thing I would change was the travel distance, quite a bit on the road.

It was a trip I'll never forget. The courses we played were all fun and challenging, and a few were the best I've ever played. Carnoustie Hotel and the Lodge at Craigielaw were perfect home bases for our group of 8 as we played in both areas. Fairways 2 Heaven had created a weeklong itinerary and it went without a glitch. Our driver was a gem, and the dinners were memorable to say the least. I highly recommend F2H if you're planning a trip, and I can't imagine going back without using them again.

This was the ultimate Ireland golf trip!  Our group of 12 all commented on the outstanding accommodations and dining, in addition to the fabulous golf.  We completely entrusted Fairways 2 Heaven to schedule our week's itinerary and we were not disappointed.  Each day started with a fantastic breakfast followed by a chauffeured ride to the golf destination, dinner reservations, and lodging at world class venues.  I would highly recommend F2H to everyone and I know we'll be utilizing their expertise again in the future.

David Reid and his team,  yet again for the second consecutive year, exceeded expectations of our entire group trip to Scotland.  Everything was amazing and look forward to planning another trip very soon.

Ford Field & River Club - Scotland Highlands 2024

It was a trip of a lifetime. The access to remarkable and unforgettable courses was just what I was looking for. The attention to detail with the hotel accommodations and transportation made it a worry-free trip. In my opinion, this is the only way to travel to a country like Scotland. 2024 Irish Links Shootout

Excellent experience all around. First class and just unbelievably great golf courses. 

Excellent logistics. Four great golf courses- world class venues. Liked having some freedom for evenings. Closing dinner at Birkdale was special.

The trip to Ireland was awesome! All 5 of the course we played were fantastic. Killarney is a great town and the hotel was excellent. Truly a once-in-a-lifetime type experience.

Dan Kochevar - Northern Ireland and Scottish Highlands 2024

The golf venues were all spectacular. However, the travel time in the van as well as the regional flight connections during the trip were brutal. Would much prefer planting the flag in one or two locations with travel in a 16 person van , not two 4 person vans. The hotels were great except for the last two nights, Bushwells in Dublin, NOT that great. 

Dan Kochevar is a national treasuer, he made all the difference on this trip, his corralling of the group, keeping us on time and his exceptional knowledge of all things Links golf.

Reserve GC Harbour Town & Kiawah Golf Escape

It was a very good trip. The courses were wonderful and all I expected. Hotels in London and Liverpool were very nice as well as convenient for our needs. We were somewhat disappointed in the Dundonald lodging’s. We thought they would be similar to the cottages we had in Ireland at Doonbeg not prefabricated structures. The food service and staff at Dundonald were also below par. 

Ridglea GC Open Championship Experience - Aug 2024

The trip was fantastic.  The golf, lodging, whisky tasting, and transportation were great.  Mac our shuttle driver was outstanding!!  The only problem we had was two of the dinner reservations were messed up.  

Hausmann Scottish Golf Experience - Sept 2024

We had an incredible trip, and I really appreciate the transportation and accommodations that Fairways to Heaven arranged for us. We played some of the best courses in the world and our ride and lodging being taken care of for us was very much appreciated. The full-size motor coach was a HUGE plus.

Having said that, there are 4 things that were listed on the brochure but weren’t exactly as they were offered:

1) The brochure said there would be “Full Irish Breakfast Daily”. This was simply not the case. The day we arrived breakfast at our hotel was not included, although it was the next 2 mornings. In Killarney, breakfast included a paper bag with a banana, apple, water, small pastries and a granola bar. “Full Irish Breakfast” is a fairly standardized hot meal including eggs, meat, puddings, etc.
2)  The brochure said there would be a whiskey tasting, compliments of the travel company. We got 2 cards at our second hotel that offered a whiskey flight for the winner of the group’s golf round, but we only got 2 cards for the 12 of us, and it indicated the card was for one person. We never utilized them at the hotel bar, so I’m not 100% how that would have really shaken out.
3) The brochure stated there would be a personal welcome gift, but I never received one, nor did I hear one being mentioned at any point.
4) The trip included pricing for single or double occupancy on the trip. As far as I know, everyone got the exact same accommodations on this trip, whether you paid the single or double rate. The double rate was about $1,200 cheaper than the single, so I would be bothered if I had been one of the guys who paid the single rate.

Old Hickory CC Southwest Ireland September 2024

The destination (Big Cedar Lodge) was definitely unique, and the golf courses were exceptional. Overall, we had a great trip. A little feedback though: 

- Travel bags and luggage were not coordinated upon arrival. We had to go straight from the airport to the course, and when we got to Big Cedar after the round, no one had any idea where we needed to go, or where our bags were. We spent over an hour to check-in and get luggage upon arrival to our lodge. Perhaps the travel company could have had a representative there to check us in, and gotten our luggage into the correct rooms??? F2H might consider supplying golfers with bag tags identifying the group, as some bags got lost for hours. 

- Often there was a 20 minute shuttle ride from the lodging to the course, which was not ideal. 

Evanston GC Big Cedar Golf Experience

We had a great trip. The courses were great! The accommodations and the transportation were enjoyable. 

Forest Hills CC -  "The Royal" Open Venues Experience

The golf courses were excellent choices and the free day between England and Scotland was helpful. With the number of golfers, late morning tee times and five hour rounds, the golf consumed the entire day. Might suggest earlier tee times in the future.
Both hotel experiences were marginal with understaffing/service issues.
The excursions for the non-golfers were fantastic.
We prefer the smaller format used in Ireland two years ago.


it was between 4 and 5 stars, but defaulting to five stars sent it back to four.  It was a great trip.  No major glitches.  Some minor ones were beyond your control, like the 2.5 hour final dinner.  Other minor ones include schlepping our clubs more than expected, and not being alerted about the lack of housekeeping at Dondonald.  Breakfast at Dondonald was mediocre (especially compared to Innside).  Final comment is that in the talks we were told we could expect some special events after golf, perhaps a whiskey tasting, but nothing like that was arranged.

So those are some minor reasons it is not a five, but the overall trip was a success.  Thanks.

Fantastic time, great views, great accommodations.  Golf experience was less than 5 star.  The greens were not up to expectations and the food was mediocre

The Waterfront Country Club - NW Ireland 2024

This was a terrific golf trip. The five golf courses were all challenging but fun layouts with friendly staff. Condition of the courses varied, but all were in very good condition. The views from each course and the surroundings were spectacular! Transportation by coach and driver worked very well. Our driver did an excellent job for us, including making stops along the way when requested. He was friendly and helpful throughout. Accommodations were very good, and staying in a hotel in town instead of at a resort meant we were able to sample the local culture. There were good restaurants and pubs nearby, and the hotel restaurant and bar were a plus. Our final two nights in a luxury hotel were a bonus, along with the included whiskey tasting. Overall, an outstanding experience.

Southwest Section PGA Foundation - East Lothian & St Andrews 2024

We traveled to Ireland last year, and thought there was no way they could have done any better.  We were  wrong, the trip this year to Scotland was even better.  Great accommodations,  great excursions and excellent golf and weather.  Our two host, Danny and Aaron were beyond compare, gracious, professional and personable.  We would travel anywhere with FTH, these host and the tremendous group we were with.

Southern Hills Scotland Highlands Golf Experience Aug 2024

Good selection of courses and our drivers were great.  Unfortunately, there was no help with luggage at a couple hotels.  The logistics of the trip could have been improved.  Having to drive 4+ hours after the last round and staying in a high end hotel (arriving late, leaving early) that we didn't have time to enjoy was frustrating.  For what we paid,  having to get our own travel back to the airport was an inconvenience and disappointing.    

Excellent trip, loved the courses & accommodations with the exception of the last day. side note the accommodations were not helpful with luggage & clubs. It was up to the individuals to lug everything to their rooms.

The last day was spent in Edinburgh which we were scheduled to arrive after 10:30pm to the Scotsman hotel downtown. Logistics wise it was poor planing as the group was flying out the next day. The Scotsman hotel did not deliver in all categories from cleanliness to service. That being said; for the exorbitant price there was absolutely no need to stay there for 7 hours of sleep and no chance to enjoy downtown Edinburgh. Early morning left us catching cabs and lugging luggage to the airport.Wise planning would have had the group stay at the airport hotel. It was a disappointing end to an otherwise fabulous trip,  took the shine off. Price wise this is a luxury golf vacation and ended  poorly.


What a fabulous Scotland golf trip!  We played 6 of the top Scotland and world ranked golf courses!  Our two accommodations were top notch and unique, with one having 2 private practice putting greens and a 275 yard practice range.  All the courses were within a nice radius of both of our accommodations, so it cut down on extended travel times to the courses.  A private Chef's dinner and Scotch tasting topped off our adventure.  The courses were all in great shape, the caddies very knowledgeable, and the weather cooperated for the most part, which all led to an exceptional golfing adventure!

This is my second golf trip with F2H, and I cannot recommend them more highly!  They take care of the details so you don't have to!

Great trip!  I highly recommend for big golf groups.

Trip was very well organized with plenty of time to make individual changes when needed.  Courses chosen were on the top of everybody's list.  The Royal Open venues were great, the Scottish also fantastic.  We had the full Scottish experience especially at Troon and Turnberry where the wind just doesn't stop, then rain, then sun.  Highly recommend the lodges at Dundonald as well.  

The team checked in regularly and made sure all was going as planned.  Overall, top notch planning and course selection.
