Together, we will face the truth of our nation's history of racial terror and violence, self reflect on the ways each of us have upheld and perpetuated white supremacy in our lives, and embrace our ability to affect change and dismantle racism, first within ourselves, and then in our families and communities.
Our purpose is to listen to and learn from Black leadership, utilize antiracism tools, resources and spiritual practices (such as yoga, meditation and more) to strategize ways to do less harm, be better co-conspirators to BIPOC and develop ways to move forward with mindful action toward collective liberation.
Once registered, participants will receive soul assignments, which is basically pre-work (books, podcasts, documentaries, etc) to help them get started on building a solid foundation for their personal anti-racism journey.
We invite you to participate in this transformational experience as we delve into these courageous conversations with Jamal Taylor, who will be the facilitator of the trip, and Rebekah Borucki who will be leading the meditation sessions.
Jamal Taylor is an activist and advocate based in Louisiana. Jamal is also working to end racism as an educator in the space. He has worked tirelessly to ensure that police brutality ends across the State of Louisiana. He is an accomplished speaker that has been interviewed by the NY Times, People Magazine, People TV, Dr. Oz, and many other national outlets. Jamal believes in the power of collective organizing and has facilitated several protests across the state. Most notably he is the advocate for the family of Quawan Charles, a 15-year old boy found dead in a sugar cane ditch in Louisiana. His work is grounded in love and will frequently be heard saying, “I love you on purpose.”
Rebekah “Bex” Borucki, founder of BexLife® and Row House Publishing, is a mother of five, a meditation guide, a birth doula, a mentor for creative healers, and an author and publisher of books for big and little readers.
She has taught meditation as a profound act of self-care that can be executed effortlessly and effectively to hundreds of thousands of individuals online and in live workshops for more than a decade. Because Rebekah believes that wellness is a social and racial justice issue, her mission has been and will always be to make mental-health support and stress-management tools accessible to all, but especially to the most vulnerable among us.
