Each day of the retreat is a journey of discovery and growth. Under the guidance of Kumu Andrea, you'll learn the ancient art of hula—a dance form that embodies the spirit of aloha and tells stories of love, nature, and the Hawaiian people. In addition to hula, you'll learn Hawaiian chants, known as oli, which hold profound healing and spiritual significance. These traditions, passed down through generations, carry the mana (spiritual power) of the islands and serve as a means of connecting with the land, ancestors, and divine forces, helping you to gain a deeper appreciation for the interconnectedness of all things.
The retreat is also a chance to rejuvenate and reconnect with yourself and the natural world. With leisure time built into the schedule, you'll have the freedom to relax at the beach, swim in the ocean, visit nearby towns, or simply bask in the serenity of our surroundings. Feel the gentle trade winds caress your skin as you find moments of peace, reflection, and connection with the land.
Our carefully curated itinerary ensures that every aspect of your retreat experience is designed to nourish your body, mind, and spirit. From delicious meals made with fresh, locally sourced ingredients to guided excursions that unveil the hidden treasures of North Kohala, every moment is an opportunity for discovery and transformation.
And perhaps most importantly, you'll experience the retreat in the true spirit of 'ohana—living together as a supportive community where laughter, learning, and shared moments create lifelong bonds and cherished memories. Whether you're a seasoned hula dancer or a novice, we welcome participants of all levels with open arms and open hearts.
