About this trip

Celebrate Martin Luther King weekend awakening together through the practices of Yoga, meditation, and sadhana (collective spiritual practice.) In times of political upheaval and injustice, we will explore how to strengthen the legacy  Martin Luther King, our own legacy, and equality in our communities through cultivating loving awareness and courage to take action in the face of oppression. Our practice will illuminate the connection and interdependence between personal and collective liberation. Expect practices that invite stillness,  introspection, and deep rejuvenation of the soul as well as other practices that reignite our commitment as activists and change makers. As we deepen our connection to Sangha, heart, and body, we will explore the blocks to forgiveness and letting go. Each day will include discussion, periods of silence, chanting, sitting and walking meditation, and 2-3 hours of Asana practice.

The retreat is held at cozy, secluded Pema Osel Ling: 2013 Eureka Canyon Rd, Watsonville, CA.

Offering 13 years of experience teaching yoga, Satya de la Paz August inspires students to fall in love with their bodies and their practice. She infuses dynamic alignment, chanting, storytelling, and community-building into her classes. Satya is deeply grateful for her mentor, Abby Tucker, as well as all of her dharma and movement teachers: Sally Kempton, Rob Preece, and Sianna Sherman. Satya's classes are a classroom and restoration of our most awakened blissful being for multiracial, multi-gender, and multigenerational groups.

Really enjoyed this experience. Location was phenomenal, leadership was solid, programming was varied and profound. The camp was wonderful and well staffed. The food was excellent. I look forward to resting with SoulFlow again next year, the peaceful feelings evoked during retreat weekend were long lasting and so very needed.

I've left deeper feedback with the organizers in person, but want to echo how beautiful, meaningful and memorable this retreat was. I truly appreciate everything that was done to coordinate and curate such an intentional experience.

This was an incredible experience! It was clear that a love and thought went into every aspect of the restreat. Deepest gratitude to Satya, Stephanie, Shirley, Porsha and all the other women who made this possible. It was truly a life-changing experience. I'm looking forward to next year!

I had a wonderful time. From start to end. Great location, great food and even better people. Shirley was Amazing. As someone who has never done yoga, she made it very welcoming. Would definitely recommend it to anything seeking something or just wanting to try something new.

Such a wonderful time in community continuing to build on my personal practice and journey towards liberation. Loved the intentional silence and the variety of meditation techniques including chanting/singing, walking meditation, and still meditation. Satya is able to create a space of belonging full of invitations to settle into our own bodies while challenging ourselves too. Thank you for the inclusive space and attention to accessibility!
