This Beach and Bush adventure will take you to the southern shores of Lake Malawi to a small fishing village called Chembe Village also Know as Cape Maclear. The famous for its crystal clear and mesmorizing waters.

Cape Maclear is the premier tourism destination. It is surrounded by Mountains that protect the village from strong prevailing winds and known for its sandy beaches, its clear waters are a home to hundreds of colourful cichlid fish and many other species.

You will spend your first night in Cape Maclear at The Warm Heart Adventure Lodge.

The Warm Heart Adventure Lodge is the only lodge owned by a Malawian woman in Cape Maclear. It has five beach front reed and brick built chalets, presenting an enticing view you can admire from your front balcony. Offering a variety of accommodation from Camping to a self catered cottage.

After Cape Maclear you will drive down south of Malawi to Liwonde National Park for your Safari adventure. You will be staying at Kutchire Bush Lodge for two nights.

Kutchire Bush Lodge is the only Malawian Family owned eco tourism lodge operating in Liwonde National Park. You will stay in one of the En-suite chalets on full board; allowing you the chance to have a close encounter with Malawian wildlife and its indigenous forest.

Liwonde National park is a home to many animals and incredible destination of translocation, which has restored predators for the first time in many years. It is a sanctuary for wildlife.

Your guide will pick you up in the morning at 10:00 am after checkout from the Warm heart Adventure Lodge. You will be driven down to Kutchire Bush Lodge in Liwonde National Park where you will spend two nights in a bush en-suite chalet on a full board rate.

Safari through the National Park
Early morning you will be guided to the dinning area for tea or coffee and a snack, before your game drive at 6:00 AM, your safari guide will drive through the park explaining in detail the history of the park and the animals you are likely to see.

Return from your Game drive you will find a hearty breakfast awaiting you and the rest of the day to enjoy the bush, lunch before your Boat safari.

Speak to the bar tender to pack you a cooler box of drinks for a sundowner for a Boat safari.

Depart Kutchire for Cape Maclear
After Check out, you will depart Kutchire Bush Lodge for Cape Maclear.

Your guide will drive you to The Warm Heart Adventure Lodge where you'll spend two nights in an En-suite on a bed & breakfast rate.

Cape Maclear offers a variety of activities, that you can choose from, activities such as, Community village tours, Scuba diving (casual dives for certified & courses for uncertified) Boat trips (Local boat trips with BBQ/braai lunches on the Island, Fish Eagle feeding & Snorkelling) and Catamaran sunset sailing.

Explore the village, experience lake side culture. Cape Maclear is full of Lodges, restaurants and bars.

You can try out different cuisines, from Local foods to western meals. Enjoy the sunset from different views or on your balcony as you sip on a beverage.

Explore Cape Maclear
After a lovely breakfast on your deck, enjoy the soundtrack of crashing waves and the birdlife around you. Relax on the loungers by the beach or swim in the beautiful Lake.

At 2 PM your guide will collect you at The Warm Heart Adventure Lodge for a Village Community tour.

You will be on this tour into the village for a few hours, allowing you an opportunity to learn about life in a fishing village. you will visit the local market, local tea room and local projects.

You will end your tour at a local families home where they will welcome you and prepare dinner for you the Malawian way. Enjoy the delightful local cuisine prepared for you at the hands of your host while sharing a meal with the family.

After dinner and your tour is done, you will be brought back to the Lodge by your guide.

My name is Kay de Silva and I am the founder of Warm Heart Adventures, Ltd. I am Malawian and was born and brought up just outside Blantyre. I have been working in the hospitality industry for over 18 years. At some stage during these years, I started to feel the need for a more adventurous lifestyle, and the journey of a small and ever changing tourism company, Warm Heart Adventures, Ltd began. Wow! What an amazing adventure! Kay superbly organised the trip of a lifetime, taking us across Malawi and showing us the local culture and traditions. Kay was well prepared, organised, easy to communicate with and very reliable. We were impressed and thankful that she managed to get fuel during a shortage crisis, allowing us to continue our trip as planned. We really liked how knowledgable she was at organising tours with local communities (e.g. schools, families and visiting areas affected by tropical cyclones that have impacted Malawi). She listened to our requests and did her best to accommodate these. We would certainly recommend booking a tour organised by Kay and hope to visit again in the future.

Kay was absolute top-notch in everything and I am glad to have used her to plan my getaway to Victoria Falls. She listened to everything I was interested in, sent me multiple draft itineraries, and took all my changes and requests in stride, always providing the best service. While I am sure she was dealing with many other customers and clients at the same time, in our interactions she always made me feel like I was the only person she was working for. June 2024: Arrived from Liwonde safari lodge ( excellent by the way..), two families with 4 x kids ( 11-15). First impression - paradise spot. . Stilted chalets 2 metres off the high water mark. on the lake. Idyllic panorama views of the lake accompanied by Fish eagles, kingfishers and the ubiquitous Hammerkops. Kids (4) tumbled into a well equipped dorm with kitchen. Secure car park. Hired kayaks to view the myriad of colourful fish off the nearby island. About 20 minutes paddle. Warm water and a maelstrom of colour. A few of us kayaked around the small island ( about an hour with frequent stops for bird life). Pristine virgin island flora and fauna - beautiful. Secure car parking. The lodge has no restaurant but that easily fixed by heading 100m up the road to one of the many local restaurants. Touts are present and active. Be discerning. The Cape Mac is a tourist cul-de-sac. Touts will quote exorbitant prices for mediocre services. Your choice. Overall - excellent. Absolute waters edge, beautiful and uncomplicated chalets, mosquito nets and comfortable beds, veranda with hammock and unparalleled views. Good breakfast tray. Kayak and snorkling kit for hire. No pool and we avoided swimming directly from the beach because of the risk of schistosomiasis, but the lodge offers treatment for those who do, at end of stay, for next to nothing. Hiccups pub is directly across the road behind the lodge, with a pool, that is really accessed, whilst having a beer, as an alternative to the lake.
