CGT VISA service helps you avoid in-person visits to a Chinese consulate.
E-mail your COVA application, a copy of your driver's license, and a copy of your passport to info@cosmopolitanglobal.com, and we'll obtain your VISA for you.
Visit the COVA website:
https://cova.mfa.gov.cn/qzCoCommonController.do?show&pageId=index&locale=en_US
($250 for California residents, for 7 days and $350 for out of state, for 14 days)
Or you can DIY the VISA application process, for costs around $160:
Step 1: Locate your serving embassy/consulate
• Find which embassy/consulate services your state by looking at this map. http://us.china-embassy.gov.cn/eng/lsfw/lqhf/202407/t20240708_11450067.htm
• You may only work with the embassy/consulate that services your area.
* Note: The area formerly served by the Houston consulate is now serviced by the DC embassy due to its closure.
Step 2: Fill out China Online Visa Application
(COVA) application
• Visit the COVA website: https://cova.mfa.gov.cn/qzCoCommonController.do?show&pageId=index&locale=en_US
• Fill out the application using your information.
* Note: Normally, visa applications take 4 days, but you can request expedited processing (2-3 days) in this application.
Step 3: Schedule an appointment through the AVAS system
• As of April 29, 2023, appointments are booked weeks in advance. Occasionally, slots 2-3 weeks ahead may open.
* Tips: 1) For quicker availability, check at 10 AM, 3 PM, and 10 PM (local time) for next-day releases. 2) Timing doesn't matter as long as you show up on the appointment day (may vary by consulate).
Step 4: Gather all necessary documents
• In addition to the AVAS confirmation paper, you need to gather the general and visa-specific documents listed here: http://us.china-embassy.gov.cn/eng/lsfw/zj/notice/202206/t20220614_10702581.htm
* Note: Special rules apply if you have relatives in China and/or if you are a minor
Step 5: Show up to the visa center
• Go to the address listed on your AVAS confirmation paper. Do not just go to the embassy.
* Suggestions: Please reply if there is anything you learned from personal experience that CGT can add to this post to help improve our customers' experience.
