About this trip
Join your fellow Capitol Tours travelers as we venture out on an amazing day including a boat excursion and searching the beach for shark teeth, fossils and seashells. This naturalist-led excursion leaves by boat from Shem Creek and you will most likely view some bottlenose dolphins, pelicans and maybe a manatee as we cruise out to Morris Island. Before the cruise, enjoy some free time in the Charleston City Market area for shopping and lunch on your own.

· In response to COVID-19, there may be limitations, restrictions or additional requirements at any attractions, hotels, restaurants, etc. As information becomes available that may impact your tour, we will work to pass along information provided to us. We encourage you to be diligent to be prepared for your tour and remain flexible as requirements may change rapidly or without notice.
· Bring your mask. The CDC requires wearing a mask while traveling. It is expected at most venues.
· The cancellation date for this tour is March 10, 2022. If cancellation becomes necessary, Capitol Tours will act on your behalf by appealing to hotels, attractions, restaurants, etc. to try and obtain a refund for you. Money not refunded to Capitol Tours and any administrative fees will not be refunded to the you. Travel Insurance is available upon request to help protect your investment, subject to eligibility criteria.

Itinerary
Tuesday, April 19
7:30am Meet at Capitol Tours to prepare for departure to Charleston at 8:00am. There will be a rest stop along the way.
10:30am Estimated arrival in Charleston in the City Market area. Enjoy free time on your own to shop and have lunch on your own in the area.
12:15pm Board the motorcoach and travel over the Cooper River to Shem Creek where we will board the boat to Morris Island for our Shark Tooth Excursion.
1:00pm Depart from Shem Creek with a naturalist on board to tell us about the wildlife we may see such as bottlenose dolphins and Eastern Brown Pelicans. As we head toward Morris Island, you’ll experience magnificent views of the downtown skyline, the Ravenel Bridge and Fort Sumter. Once we reach the island, hunt for shark teeth and fossils with your guide. Please note there are no restroom facilities on the island or on the boat.
4:00pm Upon return to the dock at Shem Creek, board the motorcoach for a short drive to Boone Hall Farms for local produce, jams, and jellies.
5:00pm Time to make our way back to West Columbia.
7:15pm Estimated arrival at Capitol Tours.
