Today we already say goodbye to Kathmandu to fly to Lukla where we will start our hike. 

Flying into Lukla airport is already an experience and with a bit of luck we will see all the high peaks of the Himalaya! 

Afterwards we trek to Phakding (2610m).  Today is our shortest and easiest trekking day to account for any airport delays. 

Today will be a challenging day with the biggest elevation increase of the trek. 

Throughout the day, we will have beautiful views including the most famous rope bridge named after Edmund Hillary. 

We will trek to the capital of the Everest region, Namche Bazaar, in which we can enjoy multiple bars, bakeries and even a shower! I absolutely adore Namache and can't wait to show you all my favorite spots here. 

Today we will hike to the Everest View Hotel to acclimatize to the higher altitude.  

Along the way, we will stop at a small museum about the incredible Nepalese hiker Tenzing Norgay,  one of the first men to ever stand on the top of the world in the Everest expedition of 1953.

We will also stop at the inspiring and innovative nonprofit organization Sagarmatha Next that is helping to recycle and bring trash off Everest.

If weather permits, we will get our first glimpse of Everest today.

In the evening, enjoy a second night in the wonderful, lively village of Namache Bazar. 

Today we will trek to the Tengboche, which is most known for its monastery overlooking the Himalayan mountains. 

It's a challenging climb with spectacular views! 

If we're lucky, we'll get to see monks leading a prayer ceremony.

Today we will trek to Dingboche, after a few harder hiking days today will be a shorter day.

After our arrival in Dingboche we will watch an Everest movie viewing party! Snacks, hot drinks and a movie in the mountains. What could be better? 

Today we prepare our bodies for basecamp by hiking higher and sleeping lower. 

Up, up, up we will climb until we overlook Dingboche to get more accustomed to the higher altitude. 

Relax in the evening and enjoy a second night here. 

After two nights in Dingboche we leave to Lobuche. 

Lobuche has the highest bakery in the world with some amazing cakes and cookies which we will enjoy upon our arrival! 

It's another jaw-dropping, scenic day. 

Today is the day! So exciting!! 

We leave early in the morning to trek to Gorakshep. We will drop our bags and walk the final hours to Mount Everest Base Camp. 

Once we arrive, we can wander around, take photos at the iconic rock, simply take in all the amazing views and reflect on the last view days.  If we are lucky, Everest will be visible as we hike.  And as always, I'll have my camera there to capture photos of your entire journey including the perfect Base Camp shot! 

After a night at Gorekshep we get up early to start heading down to Pangboche. 

You may find it difficult to sleep at such a high altitude (plus the excitement from Base Camp!) but you'll find your energy and your breath returning with every step we descend. 

We will continue descending until we are back in Namche Bazaar. 

Here we can have a well deserved hot shower (yay!!) and if anyone is up for it, go out for a beer to celebrate! 

The final day on the trail: a big day of descending back to Lukla.

The hike is long but enjoy hot drinks and amazing food on the mountain as always.

We have a special upgrade for this itinerary! We will take a helicopter back to Kathmandu.  Enjoy your scenic flight through the mountains after completing such an epic journey!! 

When we land, we are bringing you to a VERY nice hotel in Kathmandu. 

After checking in, we have time to rest and fresh up. Take a much needed hot shower or nap. 

In the evening, we'll visit the biggest Hindu temple in Kathmandu. This place is culturally fascinating as the dead are brought here to burned along the river.

After a sleep in, you can relax in our beautiful hotel at the pool, go for a message or just wander around the streets of Thamel.

 In the afternoon,  you'll have the chance to take part in a Nepalese tradition dating back thousands of years: a healing sound bowl ceremony and massage. Let the vibrations and sounds heal your body, realign you and massage your muscles after our hike.

Following our ceremony, we will go to Swoyambhu Mahachaitya, famously known as the monkey temple. This stunning complex gives amazing views over all of Kathmandu. 

*this extra day is built into the trip as a buffer day for potential bad weather at the start of the trip! If our flight to Lukla is delayed, we will enjoy this as our day 2.
