About this trip

Immerse yourself in nature and revel in the magic of Mount Shasta. Spend two days in Sacred Ceremony and be embraced by community.

Untitled Paragraph

Give yourself the gift of learning from our Sacred Plant teachers, embrace yourself in the love of community. Give your nervous system a reset.  Unwind and stretch your body with Yoga. Sink into the warmth of the hot tub gazing at the majestic view of Lake Shasta. This retreat won't be anything short of magic.

We are blessed for our special guest, Adriana who will be joining us all the way from Mexico bringing the gifts of her ancestors as she will guide us through a Sacred Cacao Ceremony.

Our beloved Adam will be traveling to join us as well bringing the gifts of his music.

Another special treat is our beloved Lindsay who has just graduated from YTT will be sharing her gifts as teacher with us guiding us through yoga.

We will be cooking together. A google doc with meal option times are available. Share with us what ingredients you need and we will buy them for you.

Sleeping is communal. There are 8 available beds so snag them while they are hot.

For those of you who have sat in Ceremony with Malka before, feel free to register. If its your first time, please email Malka @lewmalka@gmail.com to schedule a check in.

Bios of our Facilitation Team

Malka has been leading these ceremonies for 11  years and trained extensively as a facilitator and was given permission to serve the medicine after doing extensive plant diets with the Yawanawa tribe of Brazil and the Shipibo tribe of Peru.  She is also initiated as a Priestess of Ifa and Osun and after a delicate dance to harmonize both traditions in right relationship, she uses the tools and resources of both her path with Ifa and with  the medicine  to guide her as a facilitator

Adam Kurzfeld is a singer songwriter, musician, Yoga instructor, Massage therapist and lifelong student of traditional medicines. He is a father of two, and is currently working on a doctoral degree in acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. His original music spans from spiritual to folk, rock to reggae and beyond. He draws song from his Vedic studies in south India, kirtan music, plant medicine magic, as well as growing up with Lakota sweat lodge traditions. His intention is to offer music with heart and humility, in service to the greater song web of life that connects and heals everything and everyone.

Adriana González Villa is a medicine woman and interfaith minister. She works with traditional healing medicines of Mexico. She also offers sound meditation, acupuncture and healing sessions. Her ministry is inclusive, with a focus on indigenous wisdom traditions. Adriana is a first generation Chicana and dual citizen. In 2013 she re-patriated to Mexico, and founded a healing arts center on the southern pacific coast. Adriana is a mother and wife and lives in Troncones, Guerrero with her family.

Lyndsay is in Oakland based educator and a Left Coast YTT graduate. In the classroom, she incorporates mindfulness, breath work and movement into her work with youth. Her yoga practice is centered on merging strength with fluidity and highlighting the ways that yoga on the mat can influence our thinking and behavior off the mat. As a life-long soccer player, yoga has helped Lyndsay better understand and address both repeated injuries in her body and her endurance. As a mother, a teacher, and a care-taker, yoga has helped her to find patience and joy in challenging moments.

Sacred Dieta

At least a week before the ceremony we give back to the medicine by making some sacrifices in our diet and to cleanse ourselves in preparation for the medicine

This is what is involved in our Dieta

No sex

No alcohol

Refrain from screens (television and phone, computer)

Spend more time in Nature

Journal more

Be more introspective and meditate on your intention

No spicy foods

Refrain from spices

No salt

No sugar

No red meat (chicken and fish Ok)

No caffeine)

Not too many citruses (to keep PH in gut balances)

No fermented foods

No dairy

Good foods to eat are potatoes, stews, mung bean soups, boiled veggies over brown rice, boiled eggs, root veggies, green juices, oat meal

The medicine is a superfood so any superfoods are good additions: Spirulina, Ashwaganda, Maca etc..

The ceremony begins once you decide to join. Be a witness to what goes on in your life and meditate on what the medicine is communicating with you. Good practices to have pre ceremony are mediation and yoga because they create ways of being in the world where we use our breath and engage a place inside of ourselves that can witness without being absorbed in our experiences which are great tools for ceremony.

We hear you, We see you. We Love you and we look forward to being together soon.

I had a fantastic retreat with Malka and Anthony! I really appreciated all the love and intention they put into the retreat. The teaching was amazing and the teachers drew from a deep well of knowledge and experience to provide a nourishing space for us all. I appreciate all the behind the scenes work that they did to ensure we all had a meaningful experience. I was impressed with how they could accomodate different needs of the participants (e.g. kids, families, different levels of yoga). I have been on many yoga retreats, and this one definitely stands out.
