Itinerary

Arrival Day & Round 1

The first round will be played at Formby Hall GC.  The Old Course offers a fun and enjoyable challenge to golfers of every level, measuring 6,500 yards of the yellows tees and stretching out to over 7,000 from the Championship blue tees. The course sits in a tranquil setting with wooded areas and water features providing definition and character to a course that has hosted the European Seniors, Challenge Tour and Euro-Pro Tours.

it was between 4 and 5 stars, but defaulting to five stars sent it back to four. It was a great trip. No major glitches. Some minor ones were beyond your control, like the 2.5 hour final dinner. Other minor ones include schlepping our clubs more than expected, and not being alerted about the lack of housekeeping at Dondonald. Breakfast at Dondonald was mediocre (especially compared to Innside). Final comment is that in the talks we were told we could expect some special events after golf, perhaps a whiskey tasting, but nothing like that was arranged. So those are some minor reasons it is not a five, but the overall trip was a success. Thanks.

This was a terrific golf trip. The five golf courses were all challenging but fun layouts with friendly staff. Condition of the courses varied, but all were in very good condition. The views from each course and the surroundings were spectacular! Transportation by coach and driver worked very well. Our driver did an excellent job for us, including making stops along the way when requested. He was friendly and helpful throughout. Accommodations were very good, and staying in a hotel in town instead of at a resort meant we were able to sample the local culture. There were good restaurants and pubs nearby, and the hotel restaurant and bar were a plus. Our final two nights in a luxury hotel were a bonus, along with the included whiskey tasting. Overall, an outstanding experience.

Just returned from a week-long trip to Scotland. We had a great experience! The courses we played were outstanding and the accommodations were nice. We did three days in the Highlands and four days in St. Andrews. It was a long drive from Inverness to St. Andrews, especially after 36 holes but it was worth it. Our driver was great and he made sure we arrived everywhere on time. We had a couple of extra requests while we were in Scotland and Fairways to Heaven was able to deliver. It was very much appreciated. Can't wait to plan another trip.
