Monday, May 15 - (D)
Time to kick-off our adventure to the Northeast. Today we will travel from West Columbia to Farmington, PA where we will spend the night at the Historic Summit Inn. The hotel is one of the last remaining grand porch hotels in America. We will enjoy a lovely dinner and time to relax and enjoy the views. Please note the historic hotel does not have an elevator, nor can they guarantee a ground floor.
Tuesday, May 16 – (B, L, D)
Visit one of the greatest architectural triumphs of the 20th century. Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater. The 20th-Century Architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright is one of the 11 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in the USA. Though built in Wright’s latter years, Fallingwater is considered one of his most famous designs. Following your time at Fallingwater we will continue to Niagara Falls, NY where we will stay at the DoubleTree Hotel for three nights. Lunch and dinner are included today.
Wednesday, May 17 – (B)
Explore Niagara Falls with a step-on guide in this morning and see the many sites. In the afternoon we will venture to Old Fort Niagara for a tour of the fort and learn of its significance in the War of 1812. We will top off the day of sightseeing with the iconic Maid of the Mist boat tour. The evening is yours to explore on your own or simply kickback and relax.
Thursday, May 18 – (B, L)
Today we travel a bit east to Lockport, NY to take a boat tour on the historic Erie Canal and experience going through the locks. The Erie Canal was established in the early 1800’s to allow trade from the Hudson River to the Great Lakes. Not only did it encourage trade, but also westward expansion of our nation. After the tour and lunch (which is included), we will continue to Spring Lake Winery for a wine tour and tasting. Once we return to Niagara Falls you can spend the remainder of the evening at your leisure. Enjoy dinner on your own at one of the many fantastic restaurants.
Friday, May 19 – (B, D)
Travel to Jamestown, NY to learn about some more American icons, Lucille Ball and Desi Arnez. Explore the Lucy Desi Museum and discover more about the making of the show and the lives of the famous performers. We continue to Parkersburg, WV to the beautiful Blennerhassett Hotel for one night. Enjoy a delicious meal at the hotel tonight.
Saturday, May 20 – (B)
Enjoy a leisurely breakfast before traveling back to West Columbia.
