About this trip

DEPARTURE TIME: 8:00 AM

RETURN TO YOUR HOTEL: 5:30 PM

A Galapagos National Park Naturalist Guide will pick you up from your hotel in Puerto Ayora and you will travel 35 minutes by bus to the Itabaca Canal. There we will board the yacht and sail 45 minutes to North Seymour Island.

North Seymour is one of the most interesting islands to visit as it has a large colony of boobies and frigatebirds that come to nest throughout the year. We will walk approximately one hour to observe the nesting frigates, blue-footed boobies and majestic land iguanas in their natural habitat.

After enjoying lunch on board the yacht we’ll visit Bachas Beach, a small beach that is perfect for snorkeling and relaxing. Here we can swim with sea lions and sea turtles. During nesting season (Nov to Feb) we may observe sea turtles on the beach. We’ll also walk to a small lagoon where we may see flamingos and some endemic birds of the islands.

From here we navigate back to the canal and return by bus to Puerto Ayora.

A unique experience to see the landscape of the island, it is almost like being on another planet. This was my 1st opportunity to see Galapagos penguins and during the snorkel experience I swam with so many playful sea lions! Bring your phones and get a waterproof pouch and the sea lions will not disappoint!

This is an absolute must do tour!!! If you do no other tour pick this one! This is a bird lovers paradise. I saw so many male frigatebirds with their red skins puffed out, blue footed boobies and their eggs, and so many land iguanas. This was my favorite of all the tours!
