Level 1 Beginner Training

Off-road skills don’t happen overnight.  We want you to feel comfortable when you transition from the pavement to the dirt, and our training will help you build the finesse required to adventure ride safely.  Breaking down each movement into easy-to-understand steps is the key to our training.  The Triple Threat—or clutch, brake, and throttle—is one example of our focus on the fundamentals of controlling the motorcycle at slow speeds.  By re-learning how to precisely control the actions of clutching, braking, and throttling, you’ll maximize your riding capability using this core principle.  The Triple Threat is the backbone of our training program, and it carries over into every exercise we do. One thing is for sure…you will have a lot more confidence, the necessary tools, and refined skills to help you “Ride your Ride.” Also consider adding the 1 Day Upgrade Beyond Training Ride to further enhance the experience and practice what you’ve learned!

Level 2 Intermediate Training

Continuing from our Level I class and/or building upon the skills you have already, this 2-day training class further refines your control of the motorcycle through the mastery of “The Triple Threat” – the Clutch, Brake, and Throttle at slow speeds, over terrain and during tight maneuvering.  Body position is critical in Level II training and will be explained and practiced at length. Level II Training is for life-long learners; those who realize motorcycling is a perishable skill.  At the end of this two-day training event, you’ll be ready to ride more technical trails, further gain confidence and become a better rider. Practice is still key, however. Ride with others who have good riding techniques, display safe and considerate motorcycling etiquette and encourage you to “ride your own ride”.

This is your event. We are here to help you succeed in your own way. West38Moto offers a different experience than other off-road motorcycle training and tour companies. We recognize that not everyone functions well outside their comfort zone, while others want to be pushed out if it. People learn at different speeds, in distinctive ways, and will reach individualized goals. Because everyone has to start somewhere, our focus is on teaching off-road fundamentals at your pace and expanding the size of your comfort zone.

This is the second event I have done with West38Moto. I had a great time. Dusty and his crew (Matt and Dave) were helpful, attentive and enjoyable. No detail was missed. The food and beverages at camp were always good and much appreciated after a long day’s ride. I highly recommend West38Moto and I plan to go again.

It was a fantastic trip, Dusty and Dave are awesome guides. Five star chef Matt did a great job as well. The riding was incredible and the weather cooperated which was nice, rode with a great bunch of guys and gal! I would highly recommend going with West 38 Moto and plan on doing more tours.

The training was conducted in a professional manner and within an extreme safe environment. The instructors were very knowledgeable and helpful. The training venue, logistics, facilities were all perfect and W38M team did an amazing job in training each one of us as if it was dedicated and customized for each rider. We felt safe and comfortable which increased our confidence. I highly recommend W38M for training and tours and I am certain you will not be disappointed. Thanks also for Dusty’s personal care and for his positive vibes spread throughout the training. Him and his crew are obviously from a different league. Thank you also for being so supportive and I will definitely keep returning to W38M for more trainings and tours. Moony

Dusty, Matt, and John of West38Moto were super attentive to our every need. Highlights: Pre-tour off-road training is a must-do! Matt’s menu and meal prep was excellent: always tasty, filling, and healthy. Any adventure tour can have its share of, ahem, adventures. Nature’s weather, mechanical issues, guests logistics, and even emergencies. It was amazing how the guides handled anything and everything with just plain ease. Tour guiding was the best. Every day’s pre-ride brief was spot on. We had enough information to be confident about what’s ahead without taking away any of the adventure. Evolving conditions were no problem for on-the-fly route changes that made perfect sense to all, even leading to unexpected thrills and experiences we might never have had otherwise. Exactly why you want a guide. Cost wise, these folks can ask for more. Seriously. And I intend to do more tours with them, whenever I can! -jd, San Diego.

Dusty and his team know how to balance a great adventure riding experience, challenging enough yet doable, along with wonderful hospitality and a warm, welcoming and relaxing environment. Along with a great group of both 'repeats' and new riders, this tour offered seeing Colorado's breath-taking scenery in a way that only adventure riding could offer. Admittedly, it is so spectacular that this was my 2nd time riding the COBDR with West38Moto; try it and I assure you that you'd want to come back for more...
