About this trip

⫸DEAR YOGI EXPLORERS,

We are  beyond excited to invite you to Peru Retreat 2.0-an enhanced, deeper version of last year's unforgettable journey. After such a magical and transformative experience, we knew we had to return, this time with even more opportunities for adventure, cultural immersion, and personal renewal. Together, we will spend a week at a luxury eco-resort nestled in the Sacred Incan Valley, perfectly centered between the mystical ruins of Machu Picchu and the vibrant city of Cusco.

Peru is not just a breathtaking travel destination; it is a spiritual epicenter, believed by many Indigenous cultures, including Tibetan Buddhists, to be the Kundalini center of the world-the energetic heart of Pachamama, Mother Earth. As yoga practitioners, we cultivate this same vital life force within us, and on this retreat, we will align with the Earth's own powerful energy field. Through our practices and experiences in this sacred land, we will not only deepen our personal connection but also contribute to the harmony of the planet.

Each day, we will move through yoga and meditation sessions designed to harmonize with the natural elements around us. We will nourish ourselves with delicious, locally sourced vegan and vegetarian meals, allowing us to fully embrace the vitality of this land. Our schedule will be a balance of practice, adventure, and personal reflection, ensuring space for both dynamic exploration and quiet renewal.

This year, we are excited to add even more incredible excursions and cultural experiences to our journey. We will embark on horseback riding and hiking adventures through breathtaking landscapes, visiting ancient ruins, salt mines, and cascading waterfalls. We will explore nearby towns, immersing ourselves in the vibrant local culture and traditions. One of our most special experiences will be a sacred San Pedro Ceremony and Cacao Ceremony, where we will open our hearts through this ancient plant medicine in a deeply intentional way.

For those seeking a profound spiritual awakening, we will also have the opportunity to participate in a San Pedro ceremony-a deeply revered Andean tradition that has been used for centuries to expand consciousness, heal the heart, and connect with the wisdom of the Earth. Guided by experienced facilitators, this ceremony will provide a sacred space for self-reflection, transformation, and deeper alignment with the energies of Pachamama.

This retreat is about more than just traveling, it is about connection, transformation, and adventure in one of the most sacred places on Earth. Whether you are returning with us or joining for the first time, we cannot wait to share this incredible journey with you.

With love and excitement, see you there!

Yoga Practices and Excursions that retreat attendees will engage in and be exposed to:

⫸MACHU PICCHU EXPERIENCE

This is truly a peak experience! Participants will rise early and take a BEAUTIFUL train ride to the town nearest to Machu Picchu, Aguas Calientes. From there we will take a short bus ride to a short hike that takes us to Machu Picchu where we will have 4 hours to explore the mysterious Ancient Ruins. Option to hike down from the viewing site! This experience will be a full day!

⫸HORSEBACK RIDING to SALT MINES and MORAY CIRCLES

Prepare to SADDLE UP! An afternoon excursion to visit and explore Pre Incan agricultural terraces. These beautiful circular stone formations both express the geomantic harmony and exemplify the ingenuity of Incan and pre Incan peoples. These ancient stone circles are beautiful without explanation and fill the visitor with a sense of awe. Knowing that the Inca and pre Inca developed agricultural practices here that allowed them to grow huge varieties of crops at an altitude that would not naturally support such things. This was done in complete balance with the natural world. This expresses the reality that ecologically sustainable and gloriously beautiful agriculture was a regular practice of the people of this region and could potentially still be! This will be a half  to full  day experience!

⫸EXPLORE AGUAS CALIENTES + CHINCHERO + CUSCO + URUMBAMBA

Opportunity to Explore surrounding towns with the group will be part of the excursion days and down time throughout the trip.  Let's have lunch and dinner in the towns as we get acquainted!

(Some Participants may choose to stay extra nights surrounding the retreat to see Cusco and Lima. Ask Ammie for details!)

⫸TEMAZCAL SWEAT LODGE : COLD PLUNGE : MEDICINAL BATH

Spend a morning with a complete detoxification experience, restoring body and soul while gazing at the stunning Pumahuanca mountains in a homemade Sweat Lodge or Umpina Wasi. After this profound perspiration and inner cleansing, cool off in a medicinal plunge pool or Hampi Yaku. Your restorative bath will be infused with the sacred plant essence of your choice. Homemade hydrosols include Lavender, Eucalyptus, Muña, Ruda or Molle, all harvested and distilled at Willka T’ika. This incredible experience is 4 hours.

⫸CACAO CEREMONY

A deeply intentional gathering designed to honor the land, connect with ancestral wisdom, and cultivate inner transformation. Through guided meditation, ritual offerings, and the use of sacred elements such as fire, water, or plant medicine, participants are invited to set intentions, release old energies, and embrace renewal. Rooted in ancient traditions, these ceremonies provide a powerful space for personal reflection, healing, and a deeper connection to the natural and spiritual world. Each ceremony is a unique journey, offering profound insights, heart-opening experiences, and a sense of unity with the group and the sacred land.

⫸HIKING + WATERFALLS

Group led hiking from our resort and local waterfalls. Ammie suggests to bring comfortable, lightweight, waterproof hiking shoes or boots for this and a couple other excursions on this trip!

And layers!

⫸YOGA + DIET

Because we will be enjoying vegetarian meals daily, discussion on Yoga diet and transforming the heart with food will be a theme throughout the retreat.  All meals throughout the retreat will embody a Sattvic Yoga diet.

⫸PRANAYAMA

We will discuss and practice breathing techniques, yogic cleansing practices, and Mantras.

These practices are designed to help students develop and maintain daily self practices and mindfulness.

*Bring your yoga mala or your chanting beads if you have them.

⫸MASTER YOGA CLASSES

These energizing classes will challenge ALL LEVELS of Yoga practitioners. Attendees will have the opportunity to take 1-2 yoga classes daily.  Practices will include Vinyasa, Dynamic Yoga exercises, long holds, BIKRAM and WAY BEYOND BIKRAM YOGA, and inversions. Queuing will include meridians, organs, emotion, and chakra awareness.

⫸SLOW FLOW + LONG HOLDS + YOGA NIDRA

These classes will include dedication, slow flow, sensitizing movements, and long holds. For ALL BODY TYPES AND LEVELS. These classes work with the deeper tissues of the body. Ammie and Lizzy will guide the class through the practice and theory of Yoga Nidra!
