Our trip begins with the world famous music festival uniting people of African descent and other backgrounds. Afrochella is a celebration of Ghana's diverse culture and the vibrant work of Ghanaian creative and entrepreneurs. It’s the perfect combination of African art, cuisine, Afrobeats music and more.

On this day travellers will be given the chance to venture out on their own to participate in the multitude of activities the city has to offer. Whether you decide to head to the Afro Nation Music Festival, Accra Under the Stars, or Re-Connect Fest 2019 your NYE Ghana hosts will point you in the right direction of how to purchase tickets and make your way there.  At 7:30am we will head 1 hour outside the city center to Aqua Safari, a high-end resort and hang out spot in the coastal area of Ada in the Greater Accra Region. The resort offers features such as a swimming pool, boat cruises, 4 wheelers, jet skis, horseback riding and more. Your NYE Ghana hosts will cover the boat cruise, and lunch, drinks, and extra activities will be at your own expense. This is the perfect day to just chill and soak up the greatness that is rural Ghana. Transportation Included - Meals NOT included.

 At 8:30am we will depart for a city tour of Accra where our first stop will be the Dubois Centre. We will then continue to Old Accra which was divided into Dutch and British Accra as a result of the two European nations operating from different locations within the same township of a little under 1 sq. kilometer. We will drive past Fort Crêvecoeur (Ussher Fort) built by the Dutch in 1652, James Fort built by the British in 1662, Old Accra Square and the Post Office, the old light House built by the British to guide commercial ships into the Accra Harbour.

After lunch we will visit the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum and Park, final resting place of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the first President of Ghana. The Mausoleum has been visited by many world dignitaries. We’ll drive past the Independence Arch and Black Star Square - Accra’s ceremonial grounds, and view from a distance the Christiansburg Castle the former residence of the President of Ghana. We’ll continue to the National Art and Cultural Centre for shopping and to view a varied collection of Ghanaian hand-crafted items on sale. You may try out your bargaining skills on the local vendors. Transportation Included - Meals NOT included.

On this free day your NYE Ghana hosts can recommend places for you to check out. In the evening we will have our Farewell Dinner at La Villa Boutique Hotel. Transportation NOT Included - Meal Included

At 7:00am we will leave Accra to head to the Central Region. We’ll drive along the coast through several fishing villages and coconut lined beaches. First we will visit the Kakum National Park and take a walk on the epic Kakum Canopy and the Kuntan Trail. After lunch, we will head to the Cape Coast Castle built by the Swedes in 1652 and was later taken over by the British, for a conducted tour. This was the holding point for thousands of Ghanaians that were sold into slavery. On our way back to Accra we’ll drive through the ancient town of Elmina, the fishing harbor with its colorful fishing canoes and the fish market. Transportation Included - Meals NOT included.
