We'll take public transportation to the charming beach town of Mazunte. Here, we'll relax on its beautiful beaches and explore the vibrant local scene. In the afternoon, we'll hike to Punta Cometa, the southernmost point in Oaxaca, for an unforgettable sunset view. We'll spend the night in Mazunte, enjoying the laid-back atmosphere.

After a relaxing breakfast, we'll head back to Puerto Escondido for one last day of beach fun. Soak in the sun, surf, or simply enjoy the local vibe. In the afternoon, we'll board a bus for a scenic 4-hour ride to Oaxaca City, where new adventures await.

Our city adventure begins! We'll start with a tour of the historic center, visiting landmarks such as the stunning Santo Domingo Temple and the Cultural Center. Wander through the colorful streets of the Jalatlaco and Xochimilco neighborhoods, known for their vibrant street art and charming atmosphere. We'll end the day sampling local Oaxacan cuisine.

We will explore the ethnobotanical garden, a lush oasis showcasing the diverse plant life of Oaxaca. Afterward, we'll dive into the bustling local markets, like Mercado 20 de Noviembre and Mercado Benito Juárez, to taste traditional dishes like mole, tlayudas, and chapulines. In the evening, we'll take a leisurely stroll through the Zócalo, the city's main square, to enjoy live music and street performances. 

A day packed with highlights! We'll visit the natural rock formations and mineral springs of Hierve el Agua, where you can swim in stunning natural pools. We'll then explore Mitla, the ancient Zapotec city known as the "City of the Dead." Next, we'll marvel at the massive Tule Tree, which has the largest tree trunk in the world. Our journey continues to Teotitlán del Valle, famous for its handwoven rugs. Finally, we'll learn about the mezcal production process and taste different varieties at a local mezcal factory.

We'll visit the impressive archaeological site of Monte Albán, a UNESCO World Heritage site that was once the center of Zapotec civilization. Just a short drive from Oaxaca City, Monte Albán offers breathtaking views and a fascinating glimpse into ancient history. Remember to bring sunscreen, a hat, water, and comfortable walking shoes. 

We'll head to San Martín Tilcajete, the birthplace of alebrijes—colorful, fantastical figures that are a significant part of Mexican folk art. We'll visit the Alebrijes workshop of Jacobo and María Ángeles, whose work inspired the Disney movie "Coco." Here, you'll get a chance to see these incredible creations up close and even participate in a workshop to make your own alebrije.

Our adventure concludes in Oaxaca City. We'll spend the day enjoying some last-minute shopping. We'll bid farewell to this beautiful region, taking with us unforgettable memories and new friendships.
