After breakfast, the group will head north towards Astoria, stopping at Fort Stevens State Park for a view of the wreck of the Peter Iredale and a beach stroll (the length will vary with the weather). Then, travel a short distance to Fort Clatsop for a glimpse of how the Lewis and Clark expedition weathered the storms during their stay in the Pacific NW. Lunch today will be at the famous Ship Out Fish and Chips for what is arguably some of the best fish and chips sold on the Oregon Coast. In Astoria, guests will tour the Flavel House which has seen its share of weather since being built in 1884 by Captain George Flavel who worked as a bar pilot on the Columbia River. After the Flavel House, the group will take in more local history at the Columbia River Maritime Museum. There will be a chance for one last glimpse of Astoria from the Astoria Column at twilight. Once back in Cannon Beach, a nice dinner awaits and so does the beachfront hotel after. (B, L, D) 

After breakfast, the group will stay in Cannon Beach to enjoy the arts, crafts, and charm of this coastal destination. Start a short distance from the hotel at the Cannon Beach Arts Association and take in the new miniatures exhibition. Across the street, the Icefire Glassworks shop will dazzle guests with their creations, before heading to the Cannon Beach History Center and Museum to learn more about the local history and development of the area. Fresh seafood will again be on the menu at the Ecola Seafood Restaurant which sells local, freshly caught seafood. This afternoon will have more time for either galleries, beach combing, or relaxing and watching the surf from inside a warm, comfortable room. This evening, guests will enjoy dinner as a group at a beachfront restaurant. (B, L, D)

This morning the group will depart Cannon Beach after breakfast, but to get every little bit of stormwatching (or beautiful weather watching) out of this trip, departure from the beach is set mid-morning and at least one stop is planned along the coast before lunch. After eating at the coast, guests will head inland to McMinnville to the Evergreen Air Museum to see the new exhibits at a truly world class air museum right in our own backyard. After leaving Evergreen, the van will travel first to Salem, then Woodburn, and finally Tualatin. (B, L)
