About this trip

Beautiful scenery is abundant on this great 21-day tour of the Mid-West and Pacific Northwest. Memories of this trip will last forever.

 - The first days of the tour will take us through farmlands of Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Minnesota where we will visit the incredible Mall of America.

 - In Montana, we will go to Glacier National Park via the “Going to the Sun Highway”.

 - Our tour of the beautiful city of Seattle, Washington with a local guide will include the Seattle Center, site of the 1952 World’s Fair and Pike Place Market where the local fishermen bring in “the catch of the day”.

 - Leaving Seattle, we will enter the beautiful Cascade Mountains and visit Mt. Ranier National Park.

 - We will travel the Oregon Coast and see rugged cliffs, driftwood beaches and the huge sand dunes.

 - The “Avenue of Giants” awaits us in California’s Redwood Forest.  We will visit Samoa Island and have a lumberjack meal in the Samoa Cookhouse.

 - We will spend two nights in the bay area and take a four-hour guided city tour of San Francisco, which will include Fisherman’s Wharf, Chinatown, and Lombard Street.

 - Lady Luck may be on your side as we visit Reno, Nevada and then cross the Bonnieville Salt Flats and Great Salt Desert into Salt Lake City.  Our city tour of Salt Lake City will include Mormon Temple Square and a history of the Mormons in Utah.

 - We will attend the Cheyenne, Wyoming Frontier Parade.

 - We will visit the Great Platte River Museum in Kearney, Nebraska.

 - We will also visit the Stuhr Museum in Grand Island, Nebraska and President Herbert Hoover Historic Site in West Branch, Iowa.

 - There will be stops at the Flaming Gorge and Bingham Copper Mine in Utah.

Pat, our tour guide, was outstanding. She made the trip very personable with the games, readings, and homemade treats. We felt very comfortable and were able to interact and get to know other people on the trip. She is a very special, caring lady. Lamar was an excellent bus driver. He was always there to assist us on and off the bus, always with a kind word and smile. We enjoyed visiting Opryland, Gatlinburg, & the Biltmore. Hotels were nice and comfortable. Only suggestion would be a little more time at the Biltmore, at least an hour or two. We look forward to more trips with Martin Tours! Linda & Ed

We had a great trip. Got to do a lot and celebrate the Christmas Holiday in a most delightful way. The food was great at the Biltmore, Dolly's Stampede and at Gaylord Hotel. Had fun going thru ICE at Opryland. Pam was wonderful, she kept us on time and she was well prepared with the games, food and devotions. Lemar was an excellent driver. He was courteous and friendly to his guest, but his driving skills are top notch. I hope to go again.

Cancelled the trip for impending hurricane. Expecting a whopping $32 refund from the $900 I paid for the trip. Martin claims they were unable to cancel in time. I canceled on Thursday the tour started on Monday. I won’t use Martin again.

Group travel is different from you traveling by yourself. We have contracts with hotels and other vendors and deadlines for canceling tickets and rooms. Usually about 15-30 days before the trip. This is why we suggest getting travel insurance. Thanks for the 5-star rating though!

It was our first travel coach tour, we really enjoyed it. So many very nice folks were in attendance. Debbie was a fantastic tour guide, keeping the group informed, organized and very close to schedule. The dining choices for our group meals were very good. The Christ Church Cemetery tour was informative, but not something that was very interesting to me. We would have loved to be able to walk down the entrance to the Wormsloe Plantation, however it was closed on the day we visited. All of the other excursions/tours were very interesting and well presented. LOVED touring Savannah, will absolutely put on my list for a vacation there in the future.
