The Pedra do Telégrafo Hike has welcomed locals, tourists, and curious visitors from around the world. The site became famous for various supposedly daring photos that went viral on the internet.
Pedra do Telégrafo is 354 meters high and is located in the Wild Beaches sector of the Pedra Branca State Park, in Morro de Guaratiba – Rio de Janeiro – RJ. One of the main curiosities of the Pedra do Telégrafo trail is that at Praia Grande in Barra de Guaratiba, the location is known as Caminho dos Pescadores and was a military station during World War II.
During the Pedra do Telégrafo trail tour, we will cover 3.5 km of moderate walking. Our guide, specialized in the area, will take us through various viewpoints and beautiful breathtaking sights. One of them is well-known for being featured on several social media platforms. It is a large pointed rock where there is space to stand. The impression is that there is a chasm below the rock. Visitors' imagination has led to an abundance of super cool, creative, and Instagrammable photos that have gone viral on the internet. Don't worry; our Pedra do Telégrafo trail guides are trained in photography and know the best angles for pictures.
During the Pedra do Telégrafo tour, we have an exquisite view of Praia do Perigoso, Praia do Meio, and Grumari, the “Circuito das Praias Selvagens” (Wild Beaches Circuit). Contact with nature gives us a feeling of freedom and peace that can only be found in places like the wild beaches region. It is also possible to see Pontal do Recreio, Barra da Tijuca, Pedra da Gávea, and the entire Restinga do Marambaia (one of the largest beaches on our coastline). We can also observe a good portion of the mountains in Pedra Branca State Park and, a bit further away, Tijuca National Park.
In private groups with transportation, we will make some stops for photos at the beautiful beaches of Prainha, Grumari, and Praia do Secreto.
