Bonding, gospel brunch and barrier beaches: These are a few of the highlights of this long weekend in one of our favorite towns: ever-gracious Charleston. You’ll also meet authors and artisans, and enjoy the famous Low Country cuisine.
For a few years in a row, the gorgeous Southern city has been voted the number one destination in the country by readers of Travel + Leisure. It has history, stunning architecture, amazing shopping, and a food scene that is ridiculously good. Join the fun!
We work with NextTribe women who live in Charleston to open doors to places and people you could never see if you went to Charleston on your own or with any other group. It’s part of our Locally Sourced Travel series, where women just like us in destination cities help plan the trip, showing us the best attractions, getting us beyond the “tourist” wall to have a true insider experience.
NextTribe co-founder Jeannie Ralston has written about Charleston for several publications, including the New York Times and for NextTribe (about last year's trip).

NextTribe offers a safe travel environment that through the energy and alchemy of adventurous women turns into a real community in a short amount of time.
On every trip, you will be led by a friendly and fun woman of our own age, who has deep local knowledge and/or roots. She has proved to us that she is responsible, flexible, and truly cares about every traveler, nurturing new friendships and making sure no one feels left out. Other tour companies drop in a local guide who remains apart from the group. Our leader is the glue among the travelers--the person who ensures that this is more than a trip; it's a community of curious, like-minded bold women.
We are known for group travel for women over 45 who don't normally like group travel. We keep our groups small and know that our guests are curious explorers who can take care of themselves. We allow them space to make the trip their own. You will not be in lockstep on a tight schedule behind a guide. You can roam on your own if you want (with a good GPS and an understanding of how to meet up with the group later) or you can take full advantage of the guide's knowledge of the city.
We do expect our travelers to have a level of self-sufficiency, being able to carry their own bags if need be, and to be respectful of others in the group and open to new experiences and friendships.

Please arrive at the King’s Courtyard Inn by 1 or 3:00 p.m. If your flight arrives later, we will have you join us where ever the group is at the time.
Once we've all arrived at the beautiful Kings Courtyard Inn, we'll meet our guide, Ellesor Holder, and get acquainted with the group. We'll step out the door on to the iconic King Street, home to some of Charleston's most stylish boutiques and world-class restaurants.
A carriage ride and leisurely stroll will take us through historic Charleston followed by rooftop cocktails with a view of the city.
We'll cap off the night with dinner at one of Charleston's many fab foodie restaurants.
