Throughout the trip we will have the opportunity to dine at a wide variety of extraordinary restaurants (from casual street food to fine dining). While the tour offers many unique scheduled experiences, its casual structure also provides daily opportunities for guests to adjust the plans to match their interests and desired speed and intensity.

WEATHER ~ Lima’s weather in July is typically mild, sunny and dry with
some fog. Average highs of 66° F and lows of 59° F. In the higher altitudes, expect more sunshine and cooler temperatures, with highs in the mid-60s and lows in the mid-30s.
TRANSPORTATION ~ We use various modes of transportation in Peru, including vans, taxis, trains, buses, airplanes.
PHYSICAL EXERTION ~ Moderately High Exertion (4 of 5) – This tour requires physical agility. High altitudes can be difficult for some people. During most of this tour, tourists can self-modify the itinerary to meet their ability. However, in order to fully appreciate this tour, tourists should be physically agile and have the ability to walk at a moderate pace for 20 minutes at a time at high altitude. Most historical and archeological sites do not have handrails and are not "handicap accessible". If you have breathing or mobility concerns, please consult with both your doctor and us before you book this tour.
MEDICAL FACILITIES ~ During a portion of our tour, major medical facilities will be more than three hours away.

Thursday – Travel/Arrival day
Friday, Saturday & Sunday – explore Lima with
stops including art galleries, artists' studios, Museo de Arte Contemporāneo, Plaza de Armas, and many other museums and cultural sites
Monday – This is a full day of travel. We fly from Lima to Cusco and then drive to Urubamba where we will spend two nights.
Tuesday – We will explore the small town of Urubamba and the surrounding areas including Moray, Maras, and the salt mines.
Wednesday – Travel to Ollantaytambo, exploring the region along the way, then take a train to Aguas Calientes
Thursday – Spend the day at the Machu Picchu complex (basic entry to the citadel is included, some hikes
may require additional fees; details on options will be provided)
Friday – Spend the morning exploring Aguas Calientes, or for an additional fee, add a second morning in Machu Picchu – in the afternoon we travel to Cusco.
Saturday & Sunday – are full days in and around Cusco exploring museums, local shops, artists studios, and cultural sites (including Saqsaywaman)
Monday – Travel / Departure day – no official tour events are scheduled for this day
