This Promthep cape is near Nai Harn Beach on your way to Rawai, located in the most Southern part of Phuket. This rocky piece of land empties into the Andaman Sea. Because of that iconic status, this makes it one of the most popular spots in Phuket.

Wat Chalong, or Chalong Temple, was built at the beginning of the 19th century. Wat Chalong is the largest of Phuket's temples and the most visited. Walls and ceilings are decorated with beautiful paintings illustrating the life of Buddha, as well as many donated golden statues.

The Phuket Big Buddha is a 45-meter-tall white marble statue visible from anywhere in the southern part of Phuket. This impressive landmark is probably at the top of everyone’s Must-Do in Phuket, and it is a jaw-dropping sight. The panoramic views from up there are breathtaking. Koh Samui always had a very popular Giant Buddha, and Phuket wanted to have a bigger one. 

The old buildings in Phuket town indeed represent the prosperity of the culture. These old buildings have been constructed more than a hundred years since the popular mining business. The architectural style is European mixed with Chinese modern called "Sino-Portuguese" type; it is often a medium single or two-storied building with more area inside than width.
