The 'Cinque Terre' or Five Lands are situated on rocky coastline in the east of Liguria, and consist of five small villages (Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza and Monterosso)  suspended on the rocky hill sides overlooking the mediterranean sea.  

This territory has become a National Park and is under Unesco protection since 1997, as it is an important naturalistic environment. The area is  characterized by the presence of steep hillside facades cultivated with  vines using a terrace method. 

During our stay, we will take a day boat  trip to visit the Cinque Terre and go for dinner at our favorite fish  restaurant overlooking the coast.

We will spend the afternoon at the beach town of Lerici and then slowly make our way to our favourite fish restaurant with breathtaking views and sunset over the Ligurian Sea towards the Cinque Terre.

Bagnone is a comune in the Province of Massa and Carrara in the Italian region Tuscany, located about 120 kilometres northwest of Florence and about 35 kilometres northwest of Massa in the Lunigiana, facing the Monte Sillara, which has a peak elevation of 1,861 metres.

The village stands out on a rocky outcrop, immersed in a dense pine and oak forest. Of medieval origins, Bagnone had a great importance thanks to its strategic position, considering that it stands at the intersection of important communication routes. The small village also boasts a long tradition of onion cultivation in the Treschietto area, from which it takes its name.

The farm was bought fifteen years ago by the current owner Giuseppe Balestra and consists of the house where the 16th century poet Paolo Belmesseri was born, a mill and an oil mill dating back to the 17th century.

The vineyards are located on terraces along the banks of the Verde river.

The old vines, which are over fifty years old, have been re-established using the spurred cordon system, while the new vineyards were planted fifteen years ago.

The winery was completed in 2009.

Oenologist Alessio Macchia has been looking after the winery since 2010.

The small wine cellar is located on the ground floor of the main building, inside historic rooms made of local stone.

The thermal insulation inherent to natural materials, the cold water from the water table and the humidity guaranteed by the adjacent Verde river, make the cellar suitable for both fermentation processes and the subsequent ageing and conservation phases.

There is no need for additional technology, such as heat and humidity control systems.

We can define it in every respect as a totally environmentally sustainable wine cellar.

Lucca is a city on the Serchio river in Italy’s Tuscany region. It’s known for the well-preserved Renaissance walls encircling its historic city center and its cobblestone streets. Broad, tree-lined pathways along the tops of these massive 16th- and 17th-century ramparts are popular for strolling and cycling. Casa di Puccini, where the great opera composer was born, is now a house museum.
