PUERTO MADRYN

3 nights accommodation in shared dorm + airport or bus station pickup and drop off + excursion to Península Valdés and Punta Tombo.

Day 1: Puerto Madryn

Arrival in Puerto Madryn. Check in and free day. 

Day 2: Puerto Madryn

Breakfast.

7.30am - Pick up from the hostel for the excursion to Península Valdés (full day): the first stop will be the Carlos Ameghino Isthmus Interpretation Centre, where you can have fast references on fauna, flora and geology of the Peninsula. You will also enjoy the panoramic view that the “Golfo Nuevo”, “San Jose” and the “Isla de los Pájaros” will let us observe. Another stop is the village of “Puerto Pirámide”, where you can take a tour to see the whales. Continuing the route you will visit “Caleta Valdés”, “Punta Cantor” and “Punta Norte” to observe marine elephants, penguins and marine lions. The Orcinus can be watched from the seaside at “Punta Norte” within the months of March and April, and also during September in the “Caleta Valdés”. Back to Puerto Madryn.

Optional - Take a tour to see the whales from Puerto Pirámides. Only from 1st of June until the 30th of November.

Day 3: Puerto Madryn

Breakfast.

7.30am - Pick up from the hostel for the Punta Tombo Penguin Colony excursion (only from the 1st of September until the 30th of March): you will visit the most important penguin colony, where thousands of Penguins lay their eggs on the beach. The first stop will be at “Rawson” port, in the “Union” beach to observe the “Toninas Overas”. After that, you will move towards Punta Tombo, a geographic feature that serves as a habitat of the “Magallanes” Penguin. You will have time to observe how several species cohabit on the coast. You will visit the small town of Gaiman, to admire its culture and the very particular architecture, and also to taste a delicious piece of cake at a Welsh tea house.

Day 4: Puerto Madryn

Breakfast. Check out and transfer to the airport.
