Very disappointed in this company. Had seen good reviews and booked a trip with them. The evening before I had a text message saying they’d cancelled and would send a refund. Apparently decided they were no longer going g to provide the trip but no other explanation. Good job I actually had some signal on my phone or we would have been waiting for them at 8am. Whilst I understand as a traveller that these things can happen, it was extremely last minute and affected our onward stay in Tortuguero which we were then changed for late cancellation. We have not received any refund. I have been emailing them and initially told it had been processed but that was 10 days ago and still no refund! I have tried to email back but am now getting no response which I find very bad form and unprofessional. I feel they are just taking out $180 thinking we will forget about it. Now we are going to have to get out credit card company to recover and this is all very poor. Really hoping they will do the right thing and refund us without visa having to remove them from their payment service due to poor business practice. I cannot comment on the non existent trip Please be aware when thinking about using this company.

After payment, advised the Tour does not exist. No refund yet either a month after - still outstanding, no clear solution. Monteverde Tours accepted payment for this trip 7/11/2024. They cancelled this tour (on the day, and only in response to our whatsapp message reconfirming pu time 11/012025) advising they no longer have been running this tour for quite some time. Leaving us a dead day in our travel. They have since advised numerous dates for refund to happen, each day comes and goes, with more varied excuses on why a mistake in the refund has been made or other delay advice. To date, almost a month later we have still received absolutely nothing as a refund. Could you please advise on what your organisation believes we should best do about this in a satisfactory way - or we clearly need to escalate this. Slow trip but unavoidable due to road and traffic conditions. Shuttle buses were comfortable enough. On our way back from Monteverde to San Jose the car segment from the collector bus terminal to San Jose was a bit crowded with 4 passengers in the car. This segment was unexpected but we got right to our condo building which was very convenient. Drivers were all polite.

What an incredible tour!! We did the side by sides and it was so much fun. Such a great value too. The ride was long and our guide even found a sloth in the wild for us at the end. So much fun. 10/10 experience.
