About this trip

Quebec and Montreal Explorer, “French Canada”

August 20-August 24, 2023

We invite you to join us this summer to explore Quebec and Montreal just like Jacques Cartier did and discover remnants of a bygone era. Influenced by both French and British settlers, Montreal is one of the most bilingual cities in Canada where two cultures meet. You will spend one night and one day in this bustling metropolis.  You will tour Place Ville Marie, Notre Dame Cathedral, Olympic Stadium, Mount Royale and St Joseph’s Shrine. Next you continue onto Quebec City, the only walled city remaining in North America. Cobblestone Streets, French inspired architecture and outdoor cafes make Quebec, North America’s most European City.  Unscathed by time, Quebec remains a European jewel ready for you to explore. You will enjoy Québec with a trip to nearby Ste Anne de Beaupre with its famous basilica, Montmorency Falls (these falls are 1.5 times higher than Niagara Falls), (Maries Bread Oven), Woodcarvers Museum and more touring through the city of  Quebec! Time allowed to visit Chateau Frontenac on your own if you wish.  Our last night will include a wonderful dinner cruise on Lake George and an overnight stay at the beautiful Queensbury Hotel.

Package includes motor coach transportation, 4 nights accommodations, 1 lunch, 3 dinners, 4 breakfasts, tours, guides, admissions, trip leader, driver's gratuity.

Bus departs Jackson 7:15 am and TARGET, 570 Rt 70, Brick 8am  (times subject to change)

Wonderful show and very friendly people on the bus . The place where lunch was served was excellent. I prefer eating at an assigned buffet rather than eating on my own

Always reliable, timely pick up in a clean, luxury bus, we were met by tour guide, John Reese, who welcomed us warmly and conducted a fun, informative trivia with prizes! Essex Market was an interesting stop for our lunch and we quickly found clean bathrooms, an assortment of vendors and a great sandwich shop for a relaxing sit down and delicious meal. The choice of the Museum at Eldridge Street was a somber but perfect prequel to the main attraction of the Anne Frank Exhibit. This museum, its renovation of an historical lower east side synagogue, and the excellent private tour guide was informative, beautiful to see and just amazing to experience. The self-guided tour of the Anne Frank Exhibit was easy to follow, detailed, full of historical information with memorabilia, short videos and photographs of the times; and the replica of the space the Frank family lived in for over two years gave one insight into their strength and endurance despite the very real fear of the times. Extremely moving in every way. Another excellent Garden State Getaways trip from beginning to end.

I had a great time with friends and learned things I did not know about history (wasn't my favorite subject in school). John & Ed were great hosts. Garden State truly does a great job!

Joy To The World on Dec11, 2024 in Lancaster, PA. A perfect day trip! Lunch at the Amish home was delicious. The show was superb. We had a great time. Very well managed by Vikky.

In May, I traveled with GS Getaways to Brooklyn, Philadelphia twice and a multi-day tour to Long Island. Each experience was unique, interesting and well run. The excellent step-on guides and docents greatly enhanced the knowledge and appreciation of the sites, and the special meals or restaurants were carefully chosen. It was also fun getting to know so many fellow travelers and reconnecting with a few from previous trips. Thank you, Faith and company! Lois D.
