co-LAB Collective is creating an abundant space for women, femmes and non-binary leaders of color (BIPOC) to rest, care and experience possibility together.
It takes a collective to offer a rest opportunity, and we invite folks who are ready to explore what would serve you at this time. Radical Sabbatical focuses on a retreat experience for rest and solo-organizing in the company of others.
What to expect:
- Warm hospitality, yummy nourishing food, and care in the Black Feminist tradition, in a peaceful beach retreat
- Being in choice about solo and communal connection for relaxation and generative imaginings
- Emergent facilitation and coaching responsive to your sabbatical themes (healing, reflection, resting, visioning…)
- Bodywork offerings including somatic and embodied practice. Meditation with light guidance.
POP for Radical Sabbatical
Purpose
For women, femmes and non-binary leaders of color (BIPOC) to have access to an abundant space for rest, care and experience possibility together.
Radical sabbatical anticipates leaders coming in with different needs for sabbatical. One of these themes may speak strongly to you, and likely more than one. Are you:
- Feeling depleted, overwhelmed and needing a change in pace?
- Wishing for a nourishing space to play, rest and reflect after many seasons of caring for others?
- Tending a passion project and struggling to find space to develop that idea in the day-to-day?
- Ready for a big change, but unsure what that is or how to make it happen?
Outcomes
Depending on your particular Radical Sabbatical needs, you can choose to focus on any of these outcomes. Imagine feeling:
- Reconnected with rest, body, energy, emotional aliveness, spirit; and with boundaries and pacing reset
- Regenerated abundant space to heal and play with the support of nature, culture (art, music) and community
- Nourishing imagination for new, joyful possibilities and radically do-able ideas for manifesting what’s next
- Appreciating and understanding changes you want to make in this season of life, and what you need to make that happen
Registration Process
Registering today tells us you are a YES to this experience. In order to register, we will need:
- Selection of which price point you are able to join us (below)
- Payment of $500 deposit
- Initial registration information to support us in thoughtful curation
- Patience as we thoughtfully curate this group
- Confirmation upon receiving final invitation
*In case we are not able to invite you to this pilot offering, your deposit will be refunded.
What’s included
- Hotel accommodation5 days/4 nights in private accommodations, surrounded by a protective cove on the gentle Southern beaches of Puerto Rico
- Hosting by co-LABDrawing on our depth hosting liberatory spaces centering women, femmes and non-binary leaders of color (BIPOC)
- MealsBreakfast and lunch served at set times allowing you to eat at your leisure. Two hosted group dinners and two dinners on your own.
- CYA AdventuresChoose your own adventures (CYA) including: reserved cabanas, offsite adventures, coaching, healing sessions, and body work
- Coaching with co-LABIncludes one-on-one coaching session with Viveka, Monica or Maura on-site to support integration
- Daily practice sessionsSomatic/embodiment practices (tai ji, meditation, somatics, yoga). We anticipate some with established practices and some newer to these practices and/or curious about different approaches
- Cultural groundingWeaving ritual, music, art, and dance welcoming and respecting the breadth of participant cultures and practices and being led by local invitation, capacity, and offers
- Accessibilityco-LAB is committed to exploring accessibility. This space is for tending to yourselves. If that includes traveling with children, we invite you to bring support with pricing at our group rate.
- Ground transportationco-LAB is arranging round trip group ground transportation from San Juan to Copa Marina Resort

This experience is priced to invite folks with access to different kinds of resources to contribute at the level of that access. We encourage you to consider organizational support for this depthful leadership experience and are glad to support your advocacy in that direction. We value radical generosity, partnership and collective resourcing and we practice this ethos in our convening design and pricing. Please contribute at the highest level you are able.
Deposits made by Dec. 4th to secure registration. Full amount due by January 4.
Cancellation Timeline
We would like to offer a generous cancellation practice. The following reflects the nonrefundable payments we must make to our partners and vendors in Puerto Rico:
- Initial deposit at time of booking is fully refundable up to 72 hours following booking
- Any cancellations made between December 15 and January 4, 2024 is 50% refundable. January 5- January 12, 2024 is 25% refundable
- Cancellations made on or after January 13, 2024 forfeit 100% of payment
This is the 125% cost of this experience. price. Please consider contributing at this rate if you have access to organizational resources or if you are able to contribute towards the abundance fund that makes participation accessible. We are glad to provide an invoice for your organization.
